Glad to be part of the guitar club. Music is a huge thing for me, nick name is Izzy and the Blues is there because I love blues music.

This is my gear. Will be getting into music production as a hobby soon.

On the left is a Martinez, in the middle, a Peavey Vypyr 30W and on the right, a Gibson Les Paul Studio 2011 Anniversary Flood Edition. Only 600 made, 300 in green and 300 in blue.

I can't fault it. It sounds beautiful both unplugged and through the amp. The pickup system offers great tonal range. Although setup is pretty good off the shelf, i'll give it a tweak when it's time for a string change, but it comes with Elixirs, so that could be a while.

One thing that's been a real bonus is that since spending a lot of time on the acoustic, it has identified some holes in my playing which i'm working to fill in. Going back to the electric, it's definitely improving my playing, particularly accuracy & note definition.

Loving the Flood edition. Wanted to get a green one myself for a while..

Photos don't do the finish justice!

Greetings, humans.

So, I've come to a point where I've decided to buy my first electric guitar. I've had some previous experience with a nylon and a mate's steel string, so I'm not new to guitars in general but still pretty crap at playing.

I've been looking around the internet a bit and this particular Ibanez has taken my fancy as I'm a bit partial to wood grain. I had a look around the other offerings around the $500 mark and nothing really took my fancy. I considered an LTD H-330NT initially, but having the only available colours being white and a sunburst blue didn't really appeal to me. Had a look on Ebay to see if there was any secondhand fixed bridge Ibanezs, but it seems that the fixed bridge variants aren't all that popular in comparison to the trems, haha.

So I guess I should ask if there are any other places I should have a look for some secondhand guitars; online or Brisbane-based preferable. I'm not locked to any particular brand, but after a fixed bridge and humbuckers mainly. Prefer the strat shape and plainer finishes, so no bright, lurid colours. Probably going to be playing more rock/metal and I'll be playing around with some down tuning.

Any input would be fantastic. Thanks.

There you go.

I really want to put a black pickguard on it but I don't want to ruin the rarity of it. Not like I'm going to sell it or anything but still...

Hey ill-minded, I would have to say that if I started on an Ibanez I would have bloody loved it. If you have a look here the rg321mh can be had at a very good price and at only just over $500. I have bought from here and so has a friend the guys are really nice and genuine. The 321 would be a superb starting guitar with it's no fuss bridge and generally slim neck, but I may be biased towards Ibanez...

Thanks MercyFlush.

I've been eyeing off that exact store funnily enough, haha. I'll probably shoot off an email and check they've still got some stock. Good to hear some feedback about them actually, as I'm usually a little wary until I've heard something.

So a courier dropped off my new Schecter Blackjack SLS in matte black today... here is a crappy phone photo of her sitting pretty next to my Blackjack ATX.

The body is soooo much thinner than the ATX, and I love the depth of the JB/Shred combo compared to the Blackouts in the ATX.

I hate to say it... but I dare say the ATX won't be played all that often anymore

For those into instrumental rock/fusion, On The Virg are doing a small tour. Tickets at moshtix. The band is full of mind fuck musos, so you'll need to take your calculator to work out the time changes.

best bet would be five star in Ringwood

They may have the 60w head but won't have the 2x12 (we don't really sell them - really only the 4x12)

Of course they can order either or both in for you if they don't have it in stock.
