Default Motherboard keeps entering bios automatically - Urgent

Urgent help required

Dear OCAU,

today i purchased an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 Motherboard and well i am unable to use it as everytime i boot up it automatically enters bios.

I have tried to run the CPU, Mem + PSU only and it does the same thing
tried Clr cmos and it does the same thing
tried no kb / mouse same thing
tried the stock HSF, same thing
tried 2 Cpus
tried hard drive and no hard drive
have tried different memory
updated bios and does same thing
so i am stumped as to why this is occuring :-(

Are you plugging the CPU cooler into the CPU1/CPU Fan slot? Some boards will not automatically post if you're using a chassis or optional fan port and not the intended one.

Try a BIOS update. Otherwise time for RMA

When you connect the hard drive with your OS on it, can you see that drive in the BIOS?

If the date keeps coming up as say Jan 1 2000 then your CMOS backup battery could be flat, which makes many motherboards boot into BIOS so you can set the date and time etc.

Sometimes it's the simplest things, hmmm?
