Default AARNET mirror. Where is it located?

I'm curious as to where the AARNET mirror is located?

My DSL usually maxes out at around mid 5Mb/s. Just snatched the whole entire source kernel set for NetBSD from the AARNet and I was getting speeds of 6.5Mb/s. Awesome!

trace route will give you a fair idea where its located depending on how well/reliable the ISPs have labelled the PTR records for the IPs.

Latencies are also a good confirmation that they are roughly that distance away.

From your link:

In 2006, ... [t]he mirror was relocated back to QLD as part of the upgrade process.

However, I'm inclined to believe that it lies in the Great Victoria Desert in South Australia. Bloody quick from Oodnadatta

Offtopic and other whinging posts will be deleted from this thread and any others you care to post in. I'm not having a few of you guys (yes, you know who you are) belittling other members for asking questions and ironically, in whining about how bad OCAU is now, making it worse.

Gords is a big meanie... Just Kidding.

On topic though - I'd never even given a thought to the AARNET servers. But that page about it has some pretty darned impressive numbers on it.
84TB of storage!?!!?

I took the matter in to my own hands and decided to email the system administrator myself, last night. I got a reply today.

Code:
Hi Chris,

The current location of mirror.aarnet is in Brisbane, Queensland. It was previously in the ACT. It has been in QLD for about six - seven years now.

If you read the link in the 3rd post you would have see that. Or if gords didn't delete my post saying exactly what Alex said, you wouldn't have had to waste other peoples time either.
