Well Its time for me to move from the Dimastech bench to something.. different. Also I don't change my hardware as much and dust is starting to annoy me as I don't have the time to clean it.
Soo this is a build log with that probably drag out as the hardware I want to upgrade to isn't quite out yet. But the current gear will go straight into it. Case: XSPC H1 Cube Rev1.1 Current Hardware: CPU: i7 2600k @ 4.8Ghz (24/7) Motherboard: Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance Graphic Card(s): (3) 3GB EVGA GTX580's + EVGA Backplates Sound Card: Asus Xonar Essence STX Power Supply: Corsair AX1200 (Factory Sleeved Cables) SSD: Kingston HyperX 120GB HDD: (2) WD Black 1TB & (1) Hitachi 7200RPM 1TB (All 3 RAID0) Water-cooling Components: CPU Block: Koolance CPU-370 GPU Block(s): Koolance VID-NX580 Pump: Koolance PMP-450 + Bitspower Mod Top & Kit Radiator(s): (2) Black Ice GTX 360 & (1) Black Ice GTX 240 Reservoir: EK Multioption Res X2 Advanced 150 Tubing: PrimoChill PrimoFlex Pro LRT (1/2ID 3/4OD) - Black Coolant: Koolance Fluorescent Red Upgraded Parts: (1) Bitspower Dual D5 Mod Top/Extreme - Received (1) Swiftech MCP655 + Bitspower Mod Kit - Ordered... (1) Black Ice GTX 240 Radiator - Received (12) Enermax Twister Magma 120mm - Received (2) Enermax Twister Magma 120mm - Received (8) 5.25" XSPC Bay Covers - Received (10 Feet) PrimoChill PrimoFlex Pro LRT (1/2ID 3/4OD) Black - Received (2) Koolance Fluorescent Red Coolant - Received (1) Tecnofront Torpedo Reservoir - Received Go to The KoolRoom for all your water-cooling needs because they support you by supplying the proper water-cooling gear you need I will add more to the list as the build comes closer to completing About the case... XSPC have made a newer revision as the original/first revision had a total of 5x 360mm radiator mounts, 5.25" bays were more gapped (looked odd), PCI slots weren't spaced properly (some boards had issues), PSU location was higher (motherboard height). If I'm missing something let me know. The case quality is Okay to good. There are a few small things like the 5.25" Bays rattles loosely, the XSPC Instructions are outdated and are made for the first XSPC cube. Some areas feel like it could use some padding (HDD Bay that sits under the motherboard tray for example). Personally for the price its not exactly worth it, feels more of a sub $300 case but I would still rather this than a Mountain Mod case & CaseLab's are far too expensive to bring to Australia. But I also have to admit for a company that have only released 2 cases its not bad and I always encourage new ideas & designs. Build time took about 2 hours including going over everything, re-tightening & ensuring it was done properly. If anyone wants better pictures or just want to know more about the case then feel free to let me know or send me a PM ![]() ![]() ![]() Received XSPC 5.25" Bay Covers yesterday. Was very irritating to get sitting perfectly as the design on tightening the screws inside the case is pretty awkward & terrible. ![]() Update: 30/07/2012 Received a few goodies from The Kool Room today. Tubing, fans & this... ![]() Going to order a second Swiftech MCP655 (+ Speed Variable) soon so I can have 2 running nicely. Reason for 2 is that there will be a few blocks, rads and distance of tubing.. and e-peen Update: 14/08/2012 Received my Enermax fans!! Yay don't think I've ever gotten so excited from my fans being delivered after a 6-8 week period of just waiting... ![]() Was going to commence but I've decided to wait for a second pump + pump top & possibly convert from Barbs to Compression Fittings. Just did some quick cart adding and it was easily $300+ for the required fittings though. Ahhh such an expensive switch ![]() Update: 31/08/2012 Well finally got into it earlier this week (Tuesday to be precise). Been very exhausting cleaning all the components, W/C parts and checking everything over after it being on the bench for a while. Had to clean the radiators twice from the dust & flush them all twice for safety. Also cleaned out my CPU block although that was pointless cause it was spotless. No blockage or build up from the Koolance coolant so that was awesome. GPU blocks were the same, just as spotless. Oh well at least I checked them out and so far they are mint. Also now using those Corsair fully sleeved cables and the only thing I can sum up is 'How difficult do you want to be!'. Not as easy to move around or clip in as BitFenix presleeved cables. But at least I don't need to use extensions. One major negative about this XSPC case is that it feels like one of those $20 you use for a customer on a budget build. Basically have missing flesh on my hands cause almost everything is sharp inside of it.. at least its black so you won't see the flesh as easy . ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Almost there, but I will use 1 pump instead of 2. Basically because the dual pump top is pretty crap. Also supposdly got my extra bits from The Kool Room earlier today but all I got was the post office slip, so the f*** head didn't ring the doorbell.. That will have to wait till Monday/Tuesday, so will this build to be complete.

My mate used blue koolance coolant once, tore down the loop that had been running with it for four months and seen this:
Click to view full size! Surely red tubing would be a better idea? |
