Well technically there are ways to do it without reinstalling, but the stuffing around required to do it is not worth it.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but once I booted into Enhanced IDE and installed all the drivers properly from the disc, booting in AHCI (with the same hdd) worked fine! So now I'm on AHCI goodness without having to reinstall windows at all! Maybe I'm a lucky one, based on a lot of google-found rants.

Thanks mate I remember it was a 4-pin molex on my x58 board too!

As for ram, I'm more of an aesthetics guy so I got 6 corsair vengeance 4gb 1600MHz; planning to get 2 more and have 32gb. Before you judge I'm curious, what's the point in me getting sticks that can run at 2400MHz when I've got 32gb in there?! And don't say benching

Why not? That's the only reason I buy high perf ram...

Gotta say, the H100 is really impressing me. 4.4Ghz 1.26v This is the best chip by FAR out of 3. Another quick 10min prime.

Ok so this is getting frustrating. Resuming from sleep it resets the overclock back to stock, anyone else have this problem?

Does it reboot or wake at stock?

Is that when it's left overnight? Could it be crashing and rebooting during the night then going to sleep again? I wonder if a bump in volts may help, if c-state volts are too low for the higher clocks ??

Or set bios to wait for a key entry before finishing POST, if it's waiting there next time you try to wake it you will know why. You could probably find reboot indicators in the system event log anyway.

Anytime it goes to sleep. Definitely not crashing or rebooting. All the same programs are still open. I left a bunch of them open just to test it.

What are you guys using for stability testing? I'm reading Prime95, but how long are you running it for, and are you using the latest version 27.7 with AVX?

Nice OC I'll be aiming for 4400 24/7 when I start OCing, but I might have to drop it down. atm I'm waiting on my fan controller to arrive so I can silence my H100, then I'll be able to turn up the fans; they're at around level 1-2 for now, since level 4 makes the PC sound like a jet flying over the place...all the time.

Can anyone tell me if there are any problems with running 64GB ram on these systems? I've read elsewhere that they memory controller can be very picky with its 8GB sticks. I am looking at a 32GB kit (Corsair CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10) with view to buying another identical kit in the future.

Any experiences from users here?

I found that my gaming overclock now generates prime errors and I needed to increase vsscio to get it stable again ..... Not a good sign really ....
