OH MY GOODNESS! The attention to detail there is unbelievable!

I wish I had the tools, time, and patience for this kind of thing.

What an awesome looking build, although that 8 pin ATX connector scares me

Careful with that brass. it has a fairly high resistance to electricity.
Check for heat on those bars when you are running.

The other option you could have taken is solder wires under the motherboard to each pin.
You could even take the 8 pin connector out if you like.

Default Amazing

That's stunning. Awesome work there.

I'm happy normally if I can get the back panel to close up with the huge mess of wires i have running behind the mobo tray.

Thanks for sharing the pics

i'm also a bit concerned with the brass, random thoughts follow

eatx specs say 8 pin is worth 28A
Brass is ~ 70% copper, 30% zinc
2mm (diameter? bar) = 3.14mm2
1mm2 copper is good for 10A with out getting silly hot and volt drop
brass will have a (substantially?) bigger volt drop than copper
copper bar in a slighty fatter diameter wouldnt cost much...

sorry for the downer Meelobee
awesome build 5*

Awesome build tho, Meelobee.

Probably not, so I'll be replacing the 2mm brass rods with 3mm copper rods. Those should be sufficient.

Nope it's the real deal

Yep learned that the resistance of brass is about 4 times higher than copper. So I'll redo the rods in 3mm copper. When done they will be sleeved with heatshrink or covered with Plastidip. (Liquid rubber paint.)

Stand out awesomeness:

The reservoir exposed.
Your cabling.
Your tubing.
Dark Lexan spacing between the metal joins.

I just don't really like the overall shape, and the "horns" on top look kinda naff.

All in all, a truly excellent build. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the compliments, glad you like some of my work, it's hard to please everyone's likes

Thanks c_hegge, time and patience I can't say, but you probably have the tools, these are the ones I use:

Thanks panman9, even though this is my first scratch build, this isn't my first mod. I've allready made a HTPC before I started this mod (Facebook album here)

I have thought about soldering wires under the mobo, but there would have been a high risk of me destroying the mobo in the process. So I opted for the rods.

The bars will be replaced by 3mm copper ones. I've allready ordered 2 bars ( 3mm thick, 1meter long each) and they should arrive today.

LOVE your attention to details!

The filing out the holes for the sata plugs and gap between the mobo and base, the aesthetics of the 8 pin connector, the list goes on...

Just gobsmacked

Default Update! EATX Rods done again!

Thanks guys

So yeah the brass rods.. They looked cool, but material wise they were crap, so I redid them but now with 3mm solid copper.

The connectors on the rods are isolated 2 layers Plastidip (rubberpaint) and the rods are isolated with heatshrink:

I think my bottom jaw is missing, it's probably on the floor somewhere. I'm going to have to look for it now.
