Also it would look a whole lot better if I could use the pink spacebar and the purple ctrl
my mech is still missing the right white shift as the seller on ebay tried to send me a replacement 2x but i never got it. so annoyed as its a really short shift key.

Picked up a multicam Filco MT2 with Browns this afternoon, to replace the CMStorm QuickFire Rapid with Reds that I've been using. I really like it so far but it'll take some getting used to.

First impressions is that the space bar and utility keys feel a lot better than on Reds, and everything is just that little bit more precise. I'm very pleased, but going on the amount of noise I'm making by typing now, I'd be deaf if I bought something with Blues on...

Yep, the Filco is made in Taiwan whilst the CMStorm, somewhere in Asia. Hence the quality isn't anywhere comparable to a Taiwanese made keyboard (maybe a Japanese made one). Very good choice on the Filco buddy.

Damn, another Brownie criticising the Blues. I won't take that at all. The Blues are simply the best in the MX Cherry switches. All the other switches are just made to eliminate the pristine standard of what the Blues had set. In fact other people who can't stand that superiority, can well f#ck=off, and that was putting it nicely.

Maybe the Clears are the next best version but because I don't have any on hand to test, the Blues are still King amongst the Cherry switches.

Whilst I do like the Cherry Blue switches, I think you may find that blues are in fact the switch that have had something added to them to achieve the 'click' (rather than it being a natural feature of the cherry mx design that was removed for the less clicky mx switches).

Having used both blues and browns, I think I prefer blues myself. Not that the browns are bad though- quite happy with my Choc Mini that uses them.

The "Click" and it's feedback to the end-user is what sets it aside from all other MX Cherries. Look when I'm desperate for Blues and I'm squirming around looking for that hit, and all that's available is a lowly Brown mx switch in some non-descript keyboard, I'll shoot that instead. When you slip down into that "Train-spotting" reality of a keyboard user you take what ever you can find.

That is what makes the Blues so brilliant to use for an addict. Still looking at getting some Ergo Clears to see if they will take the crown away from them.

Even though I am still using a Realforce, I still love and crave the Filco Blues.

The Topre stuff isn't any better compared to a Diatec keyboard. In fact I'm starting to get fed up with the Realforce junk. Expensive and yet no better for long term typing.........there I admit it. The Realforce looks like it was made in the back room with some logitech rubber and worn out springs. Yep, all the Topre users will be out to get me now.

I agree...comparing the blues (in the Blackwidow) to the browns (in the Leopold), I prefer the super tactility of the blues. Its a pity they are so damned loud.

I'd love to try something with MX Clears out - any suggestions for a board to trial?

It isn't worth buying individual switches unless you can get them for <70c/switch IMO. I remember some groupbuys on deskthority and geekhack where they were as low as 50c.

I've found a G80 that supposedly has cherry clears(G80-3000LQCDE-2) which can be had for 120 shipped from amazon uk.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000TNEVB...SIN=B000TNEVBC

77.99EUR~120aud shipped.

Damn, more vicious than I could ever get.

The Razer hate is quite clear at OCAU.
