I've never used ISO6400 - is it usable? (genuine question) I wonder why they wouldn't have let it go up to it before... overheat the sensor or overload the buffer because of larger images?

Happy with the idea of a free upgrade and glad they're doing it, but would be more happier if they helped ML get a 7D custom firmware. Which they totally can't do because thats how businesses are run these days.

I never found ISO6400 really *that* usable on my old 60D.... I mean, if you went black and white and obliterated it with NR, maybe?

They went into a bit more detail about the buffer in one of the press releases, as Technics eluded to above

Seems more plausible than them crippling it in firmware on purpose, frankly.

The new audio controls will be a blessing, the AGC on the 7D is somewhat shithouse.

Can we just sit back and appreciate what an awesome camera the 7D is? Three years later, and it's still competitive.
