Default Metal Gear HD Play Order

I played MSG4 when I got my PS3 as it was a pack in game, and loved it. So I've just gone out and bought the HD collection. So what order should I play it? By release date or story chronology?

It wont matter. The MG story line will confuse you no matter what order you play it in

From what I understand you should play them thru in the order they are on the Disc/cover.... so start with 2, then 3, then the other one. Something about controls changing or abilities or something, and you wont want to go back and play the older ones.

Release order. The control system and gameplay changes will most likely annoy you otherwise.

By release date, the story is set out so bits and pieces fit together over time, even though the story is still batshit crazy.
