Default B&W Speakers

Not an audio expect, so I want your opinions, good deal? - http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/the-v...tem/1002439434

I'd obviously need an amp, but will this suffice for the next 5+ years?

B&W is Bowers and Wilkins, not "Bjorn & Wielder" - the ad doesn't even refer to them as "B&W" i have no idea if these are any good. could be a good deal or a total ripoff,

do you need 7.1? that looks like a "6" system to me - where is the sub?

yes you will need an amplifier.

EDIT: lol, just did a google search on "Bjorn & Wielder" - do you know what a white van scam is tingtong?

work out what you want, work out what you can afford then listen to speakers in your price range. the only speakers i'd buy second hand are ones built by reputable brands that i could listen to before buying.

As others have stated these speakers have nothing to do with Bowers and Wilkins, avoid!!!

Stay the hell away. For $850 you could grab two second hand Bowers & Wilkins fronts and go building from there. If 5.1 is what you want at that price range, maybe look at something like Wharfedale or equiv. though.

Best to have a listen at a store like West Coast Hi-fi to get an idea of what you'd like anyway, then go searching around for some good second hand stuff locally...

These speakers are worth < $50, even worthless. I wouldn't be surprised if you did go to buy them they'd be sitting in the seller's white van
