anyone with a z68 ud7?
I can't seem to get my c11 gskill 2x4gb ram to run at its rated speed >_< I was using it on my asus z68 v pro and all i had to do was select the xmp profile and BAM it would work But this gigabyte crap i select xmp profile and even checked all the timings it would crash during startup >_< I can run it at 1866 10-10-10-28 but can't get 2133 11-11-11-30 With f10 bios anyone able to get 2133 ram working with this board? set voltage to 1.65 (try 1.7) samsung modula at 1600 oc to 2133 need 1.75v (oc the)
try 12 12 12 70 t2, at 1.65 v...(doint oc cpu) leave at default... just test via mem86+ v4.2 (8 hours) overnight whats you other ram settings /(auto)?

The thing your probably not doing is raising your VCCIO.
If it's not on the QVL then you have to tweak 3 things normally to get your memory to work. Vddr Timings These two relate directly to getting the ram to work, which you've already figured from the other board that it runs at a Vddr of 1.5V at the rated timings. The other thing you need to tweak is VCCIO or VIO. Can't remember off the top of my head but the voltage you'll need to tweek is something like that. This is the voltage for your integrated memory controller which is the other major component involved in memory overclocking Stock is 1.05V, but to get 2133 you may need up to 1.15V. Chances are you'll have it set at 1.05V which you'd need a GEM cpu to be able to run 2133mhz with. I'd start @ 1.1V and work your way up. So far both my SB samples have needed alot more then 1.1V but you may be luckier then me. (1.14 to 1.16V to run 2133 but I was also running 7-8-7-1T timings as well) |

Use a safe voltage that will work on some CPUs. The result of this is that some end users who got unlucky in the silicon lottery can't run higher speeds using XMP profiles but there CPU is kept within safe limits and in most cases survives for it's entire warranty period. The reason XMP tends to be something I would suggest people avoid is because both the board/ram makers tend to go with the first route. Reason I suggest playing with your IMC voltage is because it's the thing that normally limits what ram speed you can run stably. As to whether your CPU can run OC'd ram speeds (2133mhz is the top end of OC'd ram speeds for SB) at safe 24/7 voltages is down to luck at the end of the day. Exactly ^^ I have seen a lot of unstable overclocks caused by XMP, set the same freq/timings manually and it is rock solid
