Think a few years back I would have said...err..crap/not enough fill/shadows cover faces. etc etc all the technical stuff. But now I wont go into those things cause I wasnt there. I dont know the conditions these were shot in. e.g. you have 5 mins with each athlete...and in an hour we will go live with these images so just send them over SooC....

Hard to say...

They're pretty bad photos for a professional photographer who's got exclusive time with the athletes.

I love them, gives me hope that even I could get paid for my photographs.

From what I read it's very much a production line. Gets anywhere from 30sec to a couple of mins with each one. Not making excuses for his poor framing etc, but it would be a high pressure environment. Still no excuse for the editors not to try and fix the images, or not send them out at all.

If it's production line then why bother changing the main lighting setup each time? The poses are B grade as well as the framing. There are a couple of decent ones, but most are extremely poor.

don't explain this post further, it isn't interesting at all and completely explains what you are talking about.

Oh, look, a bite!

Just their lens range is crazy. Well, they always tend do something...quirky...with most of their stuff.

Current gripe: finally create a fast, silent in-lens AF motor (the DC motor)...put it in a consumer superzoom...

Other gripes include releasing a consumer camera with a better sensor than your pro(sumer) model - K-x and K-7 - among other quirks that I have repressed at this time- oh: super-fast 1/8000/sec shutter...with 1/180 sync speed. Oh, and focus on slowish lenses...and still have SAFOX...

Crazy. Jesus, I hope Ricoh brings some stability.

That too... Thanks for reminding me. I get the feeling the 645D was just shoved, fuckitall, out the door because it was 99% complete and, eh, why not?

I also get the feeling that most of Pentax was too scared to do much while they waited to see what Hoya wanted to do with 'em.

People most definitely want FF...but it's not happening.

Also, getting rid of the MZ-S design. Dammit, bring back the MZ-D. Put whatever Sony FF sensor is in the Nikons, done. That sloping top deck...or, failing that, the MZ-1. Ruler-straight top deck with a pentaprism that's - BAM! - just right there in the middle.

Am considering upgrading to a 5d2 (from a 550d) and having recently tested one I found the shutter vibration quite strange - recent models have more of a springy feeling to them.

This is quite "normal" I assume due to the larger mirror having to move inside the camera? I guess it doesn't really cause image blur as I haven't really seen much mentioned about it. Just felt strange as I sometimes like to take shots one handed.

I just had to grab mine to work out what you mean. I think I know it's just probably just a bigger mirror and a metal body causing more vibrations. can't say i ever noticed it before and I would highly doubt you're have an issue with it affecting the sharpness of images
