Anyone who has owned and used old Dell Keyboards can attest to it. It's a pain to take apart and clean away the dust, but you have to do it so that you can actually type fluidly with it. YOU also forgot to mention the original REAL mechanical keyboard the Model-M. That baby is still simply the best, no matter how many years go by it still types perfectly no matter how much dust gets lodged in between the keys.

yay my ducky arrived today! love it! the white leds are awesome as well.
i have to say though im glad i got browns, even this seems loud i can only imagine the blues. feels great to type on as well its tactile enough for me, not as great as my model M was but im gonna get lots of use out of it. the spacebar seems to be a bit springy though i usually press space bar to the right corner with my thumb and i've noticed a few times already it seems to "bounce" a bit. have to get the sound reduction o-rings though or the missus is going to kill me with how much typing i do lol |

The noise is what I'm after. I can't type anymore on Topre crap, it's like typing on a bloody Logitech. So quiet with no "ping" feedback. Hate not having that.

What you're hearing is more than likely your keys bottoming out, and ducky keyboards do seem to have a nice solid base compared to my (aging) das. Getting o-rings, etc isn't going to help really. The only place I have landing pads is under my big keys. |

Thinking about getting myself a WASD V1, but I'm waiting on their PBT keys to be released.
By then the V2 will be out as well :| Already have a DAS ultimate w/ cherry blues. It's a good keyboard but some things I don't like, e.g. the shiny finish which gets finger prints all over it. I also find it is a massive pain the ass when you try and type passwords in (no key prints lol). I also like the WASD keyboard better as it's very minimalist, in saying that i'm probably going to get all of my keys yellow lol. All these "gaming" mechanical keyboards..... *facepalm* edit: just noticed that filco. It looks pretty much like what I was going for with the WASD board but the keys seem A LOT brighter - which i'm not a huge fan of. Will have to wait for some RL photos. I also think they use ABS keys so if the WASD comes out with PBT i think it's pretty obvious which one to go for =]

Whereas Cherry is hard, knobbly, imbedded with corn kernels and other detritus and takes a fair bit of friction to force out. The Logitech on the other hand is like being constipated. |

Kind of, it's closest to a capacitive switch, meaning a Topre. All that Logitech's are missing were the small springs that all Topre's have. My G19 feels closer to the Realforce than to any Alps-based keyboard or Cherry MX switch.
