Me fail english? That's un-possible!

The pricing thing is an easy beat up, and this sort of thing really pisses me off. It's not the !0-15% more pricing discrepancies that is people off, it's the 50-100%+ ones that do it. I can accept a small surcharge, considering we have a low population (and thus a small market) and are, geographically speaking, in the middle of nowhere.

Saw this over on WP and had to share. Chameleon is a stunning home screen replacement for your Android tablet. Curious to see how this looks on the smaller tablets like the Nexus. Hopefully will be able to see in a few months when it's released

Wow, nice bit of info from the Whirlpool forums. EB Games are taking pre-orders for the Nexus 7 16gb with $25 Google Play Credit and Transformers 3 for $298 available July 27, full details here.

As much as I hate EB Games, might have to look into cancelling my Google Play order for this.

That's pretty sweet. How much is the play store postage (considering it comes with the same freebies)? Store pickup is great though!

Shipping is AU$20 for 2-day shipping. EB's got a pretty good deal there but I think people will struggle to get their hands on them, but maybe that's just my wishful thinking considering I purchased directly.

I believe its $19 postage Australia wide from the Play Store and you get the same freebies as buying direct from Google.

At this rate it might even be worth holding off a bit longer as JB Hi Fi/Officeworks and the other big players might jump in offering pre orders soon also.

Any estimates when shipping is due to start for those of us that ordered when pre-orders started? I'm thinking the week starting of the 16th. Earlier would be nice

Anything beyond what google have said with the 2-3 week estimate and the "Mid-july" announcement for shipping is mere speculation. See this thread for lots of misguided assumptions and wild speculation relating to credit card charges, shipping estimates and the like.

That's shit. How can EB games charge less.

Oh well I dont really care because I put my order in basically the second I got in at work on announcement day lol. I'm sure I'll get it before EB games buyers.

Well I tried to cancel my order via email and was told by the Google Play staff that my shipment is being prepared for delivery and cannot be cancelled at this point. So the good news is our packages might not be so far away?

If anyone still wants to cancel their Google preorder they can just refuse delivery and everything will be refunded within 2 weeks. I can post the email here if anyone needs the full info?

Got a copy of the email (minus any sensitive information)? I'm sure a few people on XDA would go nuts over that kind of info

It's been years since I've gotten this excited over a gadget. Hopefully I'm not getting my hopes up too much!

Thing is, this could all just be spin from Google to stop people from cancelling now that retailers are providing cheaper pre-orders (Now that would be a bad move!). In any case you can see the email below, make of it as you wish.

Quote:
Hi ****,

At this point it is no longer possible to cancel this preorder. Preorder
shipment processing on your order has begun, which means that our shipping
provider is moving forward with delivery preparation.

Once you receive shipment confirmation and tracking number via email, I
recommend leaving a prominent note on the door to let our shipping
provider know that you're refusing delivery of the package. In some cases
our shipping provider has returned packages if their drivers see a note
for refusal of delivery. The note should include the following:

- Refuse delivery-Return to Sender
- Include signature
- Include tracking #

If your package is returned due to refusal of delivery, your order will be
cancelled and refunded within 2 weeks.

If the package is successfully delivered in spite of the delivery refusal
note on your door, you can still refuse delivery of unopened packages
within 5 days of delivery. To do so, contact our shipping provider
directly to schedule a pick up of your package. Make sure to let them know
that the pickup is specifically because you're refusing delivery.

IMPORTANT: Don't open the package. Our shipping provider will not allow
refusal of delivery for opened packages."

Regards,

Eric

That's a good point. Thanks for the update either way I can imagine people might think the same thing as you if retailers put them up for the price Google's offering minus the shipping to release at around the same time. Can't blame anyone for doing that really..
