Another plus for the Havic 140 here, it replaced my ageing Tuniq Tower, and dropped temps by 10 degrees over it, silently.

I'm still loving the TRUE120 - does a great job and I've love to keep it (especially since it's guaranteed to fit in my case). I just need to find the 1155/6 bolt-thru kit so I can upgrade to Sandy Bridge. It's a real pain to find though .

I thought I will share, I just received my Noctua NH-L12 for my ITX board and found in order to fit the heatsink, I either sacrifice the PCI slot or install memory with no high heat spreader, for example install the NH-L12 with Corsair Red Vengeance.

The case I am using is Lian Li PC-Q25 and motherboard DQ67EP with i5-2400S.

Hope this help.

I replaced my H80 with a H70 yesterday and the H70 has the most annoying fiddly mounting system in the world! Took about 20 min to get it in.....performs well enough when its installed though.

The Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO still seems to be king of the under-$50 coolers. Does anyone know of anything better for the price?

Hi guys planning on ordering my new rig within the next few weeks, just wondering on your thoughts for a cpu cooler..
Tossing up between a Havik 140 and a NH-D14, I am leaning towards the Havik 140 because it's not as large and I want to be able to see my ram also it doesn't have brown fans.
Basically I'm wondering if anyone has had bad experiences with the Havik 140 or if I should sacrifice looks for the better performance provided by the NH-D14, and which one is actually quieter?

Btw planning on overclocking a 3570k to ~4.5GHz

My Havoc 140 has my 3570K stable at 4.2, folding at 48 degrees currently.

I can't tell if its quieter, as its silent.

It doesnt get much more max than Folding, it runs 100% CPU 24/7, so yes 48 degress is the current max.

Haven't bothered going higher and don't intend too, as I don't want to raise the voltage anymore. Currently 1.120v.

Basically all the rebranded Corsair coolers aren't bad except for the H40 which has a nightmare mounting system, almost deliberately.

The Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo has been recommended to me as a worthy alternative to the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 for my 3770K/Z77 build. The CM is half the price of the Noctua, I'm just a little concerned about the mounting system on the CM. Having used two Noctua NH-U9x (where x = b or f) coolers on my current builds I'm rather reluctant to leave their excellant mounting system behind.

I do plan to OC but nothing extreme and don't want to go for the D14 as it's so freaking big so which of these 120mm coolers would do the better job?

I recently installed the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo.

The mounting system was very easy to install, I did not have any issues with it - fast and problem free.

I just picked up an i7-3770 and running BF3 it's pushing up to around 70-75c after about 10 minutes of game time with the stock cooler.

I'm not planning on running anything too intensive on the PC but there will be days where it will be used heavily for gaming, and obviously summer is coming so I am wary that 70-75 is ok today, but in a few months that could easily be much higher.

I've had a quick look around at the different coolers and not having much luck figuring out which one is the way to go (too many different opinions). Any thoughts from anyone here as to which way to go? Ideally I am after a cooler that is on the quieter end of the scale since the PC is occasionally left running overnight (downloads).

Run any 120mm fan supporting cooler with 1 x scythe gt on it hooked up to fan controller and find the right temps to noise ratio your are happy with.

Coolermaster 212 do trick fine.

If want something ready to go out of box try anything by noctua.
