I made a comparison between a good TN and my 3007wfp-hc recently. I should add, though, that the TN was also wide gamut.

On most content they produced a very similar picture with similar levels of colour saturation. But the IPS was simply smoother, rendering very bright scenes like deserts or light breaking through the clouds much better.

The single area where the IPS most showed its strengths was skin tones, however. It absolutely blew the TN away there.

As you say though, for most game content this just isn't going to be a factor, and so you'll find that TN's produce a picture every bit as good as an IPS in games. Games simply don't need colour accuracy and they are rarely colour accurate anyway.

Little ghosting on U3011H but color is so vibrant! Didn't care about FPS. I still own the noobs if playing with 120Hz one against me using U3011.

I had three of these just over a year ago.

They are great for CAD, graphical programming, and multi-window work but pretty average when it comes to gaming. Two of them had dead pixels and ridiculously uneven backlighting.

So, I sold good one to a fellow OCAu member and asked the purchasing manager at work to buy two off me.

I don't like U3011's quality control. Quality appears to be random (based on my experience of owning/seeing five different U3011s), and you have to be somewhat lucky to receive good one.

Yeah I would probably approach with caution.

Got one of these other day and Wow! Impressed with it bigtime. I obviously got a good one as the exact same monitors can range from one to another id say, some are good and some are garbage and have problems.
