I wonder just how bloated it will be ..iOS 4.3.1 was around 400-500MB yet iOS 5.1.1 is a whopping 800MB of shit.

Folks are saying that iOS 6 will not feature turn-by-turn navigation for the iPhone 4. That is a load of shit. The lack of Siri was kinda a load of shit too, but it didn't bother me much. The lack of turn-by-turn however really infuriates me.

So I can't find out where I'm going but I can use Passbook which is probably going to be useless in this country? Suddenly Android seems a bit more appealing again.

And to add to that half the options won't work outside the US anyway

I have access to be beta and for my iPad it's 1.1gig of bloat

5.1's made my 4... not slow, but stuttery sometimes. with 5.0 it was great.

I don't think i'll put 6 on it.

In regards to Siri, right now, yeah, it's pretty much business as usual for those of us outside of the US.

However, everything else seems to be working alright, at least on the 4S. Turn by Turn works fine here in Christchurch NZ and there's no reason for Passbook not to work either - it just depends on the Airlines, coupon providers, etc, putting their wares into passbook.

So far, I've only come across one App that isn't working at all on iOS 6 (Touch).

Buy tomtom. It completely destroys anything available on android - especially the built in google nav. I would be very surprised if Apple can outdo the tomtom app.

Having used both, I can agree.

I kinda hope Google puts out their own Map app which gets approved by Apple. From a street perspective the Apple replacement is alright, but if you want to look at the satellite views things go downhill - the satellite images they're using for Christchurch can't be zoomed in very far before things start becoming pixelated and crap.

Apple's option is TomTom. The navigation data and logic is powered by TomTom to the point that their logo is in the app.

The satellite imagery has improved with each beta for me, which I imagine would be the same for Christchurch over time.

I wish Apple would do some work on the interface - take a look at all the added 'features & functions' thrown in the OS in a Johnny-come-lately manner.
Examples: Message app character count, switching from still to video camera, etc.

I'd love to see Apple make the Contacts app full screen in both vertical & horizontal orientations for the iPad, as well as be able to create/modify/delete groups and email distribution lists. Also, I want to see the Messages app get a make over, with that awful conversation view gone. It would also be nice to have the keyboard switch to numbers when I move the cursor into numbers, or delete back into numbers. It would be nice to have auto correct figure won't that when I type in "iblah" and then put a space in to make it "i blah", it will capitalize the "I".

I also want better consistency with swipe to edit/delete. So many times in native apps, such as Reminders, have I tried it, then realized it doesn't use swipe to delete. Some consistency would be awesome.

From what I've played around with, I would call iOS 6 a pointless & unnecessary version number. It really only is iOS 5.5 at best.

I remember reading something somewhere about "automatic positioning" or something in iOS6 or Xcode 4.5 where it makes it easier to position elements without worrying about the size of the screen.

I've done some googling and can't remember what I read, but I was interested in case anybody could link me up
