Since we're all posting cases

Ended up dumping my project case box since I was given a dead apple time capsule.

Only had the top half, so got some white pastic to make a base from. Almost finished up all the wiring, just need to thin down the hdmi extender and run the usb ports to the rear.

For power its running off an old d-link P/S I found in my box of junk (5v 2.5a)

Thats cool. I'm curious whats with the silicone all over the USB if thats what that is? :P It does sadden me no one seems to be breaking out the GPIO to the side of the case. Then again I am a hardware guy after all.

When/if I make a proper case I'll probably grab a short floppy drive cable and run it to the back of the case.

Also anyone considering running it off higher voltages (i.e. 12V). Consider switching out the linear regulator on the board for a cheap switch mode. You'll need some solder skills, but it should provide a fairly reduction in power usage (and heat). Some more info here:

Had a right angle micro usb to micro usb cable, Hacked off one end and solder on a male header and threw some hot glue over it.

Top the case, ended up with: Power, 2x Powered USB, ethernet, hdmi (didn't bother running audio out or rca since I never see myself using them)

Ok, so I install raspmc, set it up, several problems:

a) screen res on my 42" tv is off, I always need to set it to 1024x768 after it starts up
b) there's a slight video glitch every 1-5 minutes while watching videos, it might be the frame freezing for half a second or a glitch style frame repeats for half a second, but it's very noticeable

Have re-installed from scratch, I just install raspmc and samba and that's it.

Any ideas?

Had no end of issues using Sandisk 8GB SD cards, tried 3 different speeds, re-writing the images etc... swapped from Squeeze to Wheezy and no such issues. Thought I'd post that in case someone else was having issues as well.

what class was it? I have one too and I keep getting random freezes which require the thing to be restarted.

Turns out b) was caused by a), keeping it at the original resolution fixes the issue, even if the screen doesn't fit.

You should be able to fix this in the xbmc settings.

Settings >> System >> Video Output >> Video Calibration

Good news for those dreading the waiting time, production ramped up to 4,000 a day.

Going to pick up a webcam for this tomorrow. Gonna see how nice I can get it to play with the RPi for some headless surveillence. I'm not in the best neighbourhood , but it's mostly because I think motion detection could be really fun to screw around with.

You should try Zoneminder and see if it works on the Pi.

I was thinking more along the lines of playing with OpenCV or even getting Motion compiled (if it isn't). However, if I find I just want a dedicated surveillance camera I'll try and see what I can do with zoneminder.

My only problem is I'd really like to keep running openelec, so it can play HTPC the rest of the time.... but it really isn't built to be an expandable OS. Might see how getting XBMC running under Ubuntu handles (or just using 2 SD cards I suppose... but that would be a pain).

I am using one as an XBMC media player... It currently has a USB wired keyboard... But I'd like to change to a remote.

1) Can I just use a TSOP38238 connected to the serial pins.
2) Or what is a good, cheap IR receiver which will work with one of the spare remotes I have here (Ideally AppleTV2 or DVD section of my Sony TV remote).
