with my old 5450 it was about 4.3 for the video card

Not bad, Graphics let it down a touch, but it is just a high end workstation, dont have a single game installed, so caring is little

Without any graphics drivers installed, would you get a lower graphics score?

I'd assume so, because without any drivers, Theres nothing to control the use of the card.

Strangely I got a better result under win 8 consumer preview now than I did a few months ago (this is after a format)..

I popped an Asus 6850 into my HP XW4600 workstation. It bumped the WEI up quite a bit over the Quadro that was in there.

Only let down by the CPU, according to Microsoft you need 5.6Ghz on my platform to get 7.9 thats not going to happen
