I'm amazed how consistent (consistently fast ) and stable my net connection has been since I've had it. Previously with another provider it was very much hit and miss...

The above result is through a Netgear WNDR3700 then ~20m worth of CAT6. Anyone know how long (time-wise) before the CAT6 starts to degrade, if at all?

My cabling guys tell me that cat 6 is good for runs of 90 meters or less.

EDIT: oh time wise... should be good for a lot of years hey.

When I download, the most I've ever seen is 700kb/s, and that was with direct download. Am I doing it wrong?

Got this today, first time I've nearly hit 15mb/s. Going to be destroying it on steam (I get about 1.6 - 1.7mbps on steam)

You might want to rethink that unless I've written the wrong unit in there and you're being sarcastic

The answer is closer to 10's of years if this is a residential property, I work in Telecommunications and there is copper cables running modems across several Kilometres that have endured an enormous amount, and still operate with very little errors, and your Cat6 cabling is pretty well constructed and is in a much nicer environment than these cables.

1.6Mbps is about 175KB/s

your connection is 15Mbps which should give you about 1.6MBps

So yeah I was a capital B off. I like to think it was fairly obvious what I was getting at anyway.

Appreciate the correction though
