I'm going to go out on a limb here - all of my logitech gear has been great over the years.
I've had several cheapy desktop keyboard/mouse combos, am still using one of them at work. I've got the revolution keyboard mouse set - I think it's revo 5500 or something and it suits my needs really well and battery life on the keyboard is excellent.
I've got some z5500's that are about 8 years old and going strong and finally a nice little unified dongle mouse for my work lappy which has been excellent as well.

The only product that I've had from logitech and regretted was a steering wheel and I think that was more due to how disconnected you still feel to the games

g19 is rubber dome keyboard, you can buy a filco for less.
Which is better?

mice and steering wheels aside you can pick one of their products and you'll find something way better for less
and my comment about the rep at WP isn't an opinion, go and check the thread out.
Corsair and all those other brands jumped on the mech keyboard bandwagon ages ago, logitech didn't even know about it

to me it highlights they've totally lost touch with their market

I bought my G19 two years ago when the LogitechShop was selling them for $99.00 (what they're really worth) which included shipping as well. The best deal I have ever got. Even though I hate the Christmas lights of it, it still types like a Topre only more quiet.

Yep, they are SLOW, really when it comes to product development Logitech leads the way in how to quickly bankrupt a company with dodgey, no one wants to buy anymore keyboards from them, kind of thing.

Maybe Corsair is a shade smarter than Logitech, but I still think that instead of disappearing Logitech might just see the light when it comes to designing/making valid mechanical keyboards for the future.

Only reason I own a g19 is for use with aida64 to monitor temps etc, otherwise I'd sell it, it feels cheap and tacky.

Love my Z-5500d's, my mx5000 and G510. Never had issues with any of it.
Keyboards and mice may only be good for around 3 years but shit what these days lasts longer than that anyway lol.

My WAVE K350 keyboard came in today. Weird typing on this as I am so use to typing on my mechanicals.

My internet PC now is completely wireless. Performance MX rodent coupled with my WAVE, I'm now lovin it.

Still the keyboard sux but I love the spacial layout of the keyboard. Everything works, the buttons all enact anything you want and my typing rate is starting to go up. I really missed this baby, the only really decent keyboard Logitech ever made.

The cheapness of the keys with stuck-on letters is really kitsch........something from the el-cheapo bin at the 2-dollar shop. I'm going to really smash this keyboard to bits. It was cheap and I really miss the way how you can easily rest your hands on it without pressing anything.....too lazy to move the hands back to the keyboard rest.

The good thing also Logitech was nice enough to supply two Duracell AA's for it to work. I'll see how long they last until it goes dead.

About a year ago, I got a logitech keyboard and mouse combo, and they were almost perfect. Only problem is that I wanted to use it with a tv, and the wireless range wasn't enough.

Now im using a crappy microsoft keyboard and a pretty good logitech bluetooth mouse

you cannot compare apples and oranges. If that's the case I can compare a business keyboard to a filco and ask why filco's aren't mainstream in corporate. Logitech have done well with where they are keeping focused (mass consumer, corporate). They are losing some traction in the enthusiast sector due to amount of choice in the market.

I predict they will be back. They have to be careful as if they start over-saturating the market with products it could have a negative effect.

Oh, I also use a mechanical keyboard too (just not for work).

EDIT: Basically, Logitech have chosen to focus on consumer, rather than enthusiast. Despite enthusiast products having a high margin and strong following, the brand is strong enough and widely accepted that many consumers will choose it over it's competitor(s) (mainly MS). I hope you don't take my post as an attack, it's just they are trying different things (rather than competing in a flooded market).

Kind of like Intel in a way. They make motherboards but most OCers don't use them. Enthusiast MB is flooded with many vendors. But not many of those vendors do a business vPro board. And not many do it as well as Intel.

of course not, you would have to be harsher than that and if you were I would just laugh anyway. Just a friendly discussion

I get what you're saying but I don't think you can call a $180 keyboard consumer - all the ppl that would pay that have moved over to mechs a long time ago and logitech aren't even aware of it, so they have to send a rep around forums, it's clutching at straws.

obviously ppl like the brand, and have been asking them to make a mechanical keyboard (here and at WP) and they would have been well poised to do it but they've missed the boat now, other companies have beaten them to it

I used to work for Joyce Mayne (part of Harvey Norman) and it was decided by head office that all stores under the Harvey Norman group (Joyce Mayne, Harvey Norman, Domayne and lots more) were no longer going to stock ANY Logitech products due to some discrepancy with their online pricing vs our buy prices....

Just thought I'd throw that in there as a source of the apparent lack of fuel to Logitech's business fire...

Logitech did develop a mechnical keyboard, there are several prototypes but for them to produce they have to go through a variety of different factors. Logitech are trying to consolidate what they have at the moment. Gaming is very portable now (people love consoles) so they are working on a variety of different areas. It's unfair to expect them to compete everywhere and win.

Get a MX5500 kit (uses bluetooth). Range is pretty good.

I don't expect them to do anything, or care tbh, I haven't bought a logitech product since my g15 years ago - I liked it four years ago but it turned out very expensive for a rubber dome keyboard, this was before I discovered mechs

my main point is that it's not surprising they "is under hard times" when they are sending a rep into whirlpool to ask the kids what's cool right now, and he has never heard of a mechanical keyboard

I'm still amazed myself that someone like that actually gets paid. Imagine sucking on the teet of your company to perform your duties, yet you have no idea what you're doing. Priceless.

The only other profession that allows that kind of ineptitude is ........Politics.

I had a look at the thread quickly on WP and could only find a couple of his posts, which have been marked as spam and hidden.
