Cool Two Folders Show same contents?

Is it possible to create 2 folders on separate partitions that show the same contents.

So for example I have

e:\NEW\1.txt
d:\NEW\2.txt

Can I do something so that if I open d:\NEW it will show both 1.txt and 2.txt as if they are in the one folder, and vice versa?

Thanks!

What's are you doing?

Do symbolic links suit?

ok, I read that, but then in the comments there is discussion that the article is confused. That there is no hard and soft symbolic links and that symbolic and hard links are two different things.....is that correct?

If so, then which part or command exactly should I follow?

I would rather not install the app.

Thanks.

Assuming the original folder is on D:, at a command prompt do this:
mklink /j e:\New d:\New

you could set up a library if using windows 7. a symbolic link (or junction) would really mean all the files are stored only in one of the locations.

This. Comes down to whether or not you want to "show" the same contents (but point to one location), or actually have two sets of identical files (two locations, synced).
