Bought a Sigma 30mm F1.4 today for my K-5, just gotta wait for it to arrive so I can play with it

Had to call around a few places, Michaels gave me a good price match but I was going to have to wait 6 weeks for it to arrive as apparently there's no stock! Another store would have to get it shipped down from Queensland and I might not have it till next week and I wanted it for this weekend so there you go...apparently they're quite popular at the moment.

Bought an RX100 a few days ago in Tokyo. Seriously excellent point and shoot... Needed a pocket camera and it fits the bill.

Only problem I can't change the menus to English (not an option on the Jap model), but will work it out eventually.

Nice work. Can you disable the pre-flash on it?

Probably, but it the preflash and actual flash happen very quickly, no more then .2 of a second, if that. Honestly, i've not seen one this quick.

Did you try going direct to CR Kennedy? They will price match grey import plus freight on Sigma lenses.

I hadn't thought to go straight to the distributor as they usually want you to go through a retailer, I'll keep that in mind for future reference, I ended up getting it for $100 less than anyone else had it for so I was pretty happy with that.

It's a lot of fun, I love the way it makes things pop out. Going to play with it during lunch.

Edit:

Couple of shots here -

Sigma 30mm F1.4 (2)

Sigma 30mm F1.4

At these distances the DOF is about 6cm wide.

Picked her up at lunch .. very happy

Mamiya 645 AFD /w 80mm 2.8 & 2 x 645 backs.

Looks to be pretty mint, came with a Domke Gripper strap and he threw me some e6 rolls which included some E100G. Something I have never shot and will get the chance now its been discontinued

Unfortunately means I will be selling my RZ67 to make way for this.. but practically this makes a lot more sense for shooting couples

Finally bought my first tripod.

Benro travel angel with the B1 ballhead. Also bought a Nikon cable shutter release

I can now finally use my Hoya ND400 filter I've been waiting to use for 2-3 months

Looks great, was this from BH photo? Did it come with a lens hood? I considered getting the CZ hood for my 21mm but it was ridiculously expensive!! How do you find the Gordy strap too?

I got it off ebay and no lens hood. I'll be getting one though since it suffers from lens flare pretty badly. Mostly (entirely?) due to the UV filter. I have two gordy straps now ^_^ probs not the last

Yep was stoked that it came with the Domke strap.. quite comfortable for shooting. Pretty much like one I bought for Awesomesauce from HK
