Default Remove pinned button from taskbar

Hi guys

I added Diablo 3 to my taskbar awhile ago. I have the problem now that it is unremoveable.

I can click on it and it opens the Diablo 3 launcher but right clicking on it does nothing at all. I have tried going into the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Intern et Explorer\Quick Launch folder and removing it manually but there is nothing relating to Diablo 3 in there.

I have tried googling to no avail and its really getting on my nerves now

Any help would be appreciated.

If it's just pinned normally, then you should be able to right-click>unpin from taskbar. You can tell by dragging it between the other taskbar shortcuts or open windows.

If for some reason Quick Launch is enabled, you can usually just disable the quick-launch toolbar by finding a black part of the bar to right-click>toolbars>quick launch.

I believe shift+right-click on pinned item gives you more options, possibly including the shortcut properties (to help hunt it down).

Another idea: temporarily rename the EXE it's pointing to and open the icon. It should say something about "can't find the item, do you want to remove this shorcut?". Try that.

Best of luck.

Thank you so much! Shift+Right click was what it needed. I had tried everything under the sun except that

Offending icon finally removed and all is well with the world.

No problem. I discovered that a while ago when wanting to attach launch options to the end of a shortcut.
