Very true that! Jeesh, Stelios dropped off this nice box of Jelly-babies, and, I tell you what, unfortunately he made me promiss to share it with the secretaries in my office.

Next time I will hold him to ransom for a few boxes at least, bugget the hardware - I am sure I am ordering all these bits an pieces one by one, just for the candy

But great Guy he is, what good service he delivers. Others could very well learn from him.

Ah, I am in heaven

On top of the Aquaero 5 Pro I have received this arvo, my new Molex Crimper has also arrived from the UK, together with a nice Molex brand pin-removal tool.

Must remind myself to give good rep to the ebay seller, as this was totally unexpected, a pretty nice gesture. Thanx Mate, appreciated.

No more excuses, did a quick test-run on 2x 16 AWG crimps, using the Turnigy silicone wire - what an effortless job and great result, perfect crimps, none of the overcrimping you would experience with so many of the lesser/cheaper tools out there.

Good fun coming this weekend, I have an actual opportunity to finish this build - yeay!

Heya Goofy,
Motherboard is good and stable, not finicky at all. Doesn't have all the really advanced options wrt secondary and tertiary ram-timings, but then again, as I have discovered through several benching sessions, they are not needed, and only would have an impact on things like SuperPI, Prime95 et al. No big loss for gaming benchmarks, as with the speeds we are running ram at today, bandwidth means more than timings.

If I had the option to buy it or not, I would for sure. Stable, easy to overclock, and the fastest from cold-boot into Windows I have seen on any Windows-based platform to date.

@ pieceofchance: I was more than willing to fork out several $100's to a $1000 to setup a decent test environment, as I have the means to do very detailed and accurate process-tests on anything related to watercooling, flow, pressures and temperature included.

This is not something that has ever been done, a fair bit of testing was conducted by the likes of Martin over at XS, and a few others, whose time and efforts were greatly appreciated, but they hardly made use of real industrial quality process methodologies, and the repeatibility and accuracy of the associated sensing elements.

Neither did they have the means to do continuous accurate capture of data at very high speeds, in the order of low milli-seconds, and store for later reply.

Unfortunately, you have those spoil-sports in life, who is either deliberate, or just to obtuse to acknowledge another's input, or contributions. With that in mind, I have decided, that, in future, I will focus on my project logs, and the FS section only, and will abstain from providing any input to the technical sections.

There has been a constant stream of jibes, and character attacks on myself, from people, that frankly don't know me from a dog's arse. The moment you provide them with factual input, they resort to dirty tactics.

Spineless and brainless jellyfish they are.

I have to reiterate that while I don't agree with a fair bit of input from others on this site, I respect their right to differ with my opinions, and I expect the same courtesy. It says a lot for a select few about their (lack of) intellect and upbringing that they have to resort to character-assassination every time they run out of arguments.

Let's put this to bed, I have made my decision. For all I care they can live in la-la land forever, no skin of my back.

Got a couple of questions Mr Bean...
Do you know if the 79X0 back plates can be used with the original air cooler in place?
Also, what happened to the radiator you were originally going to use? Is it available?

Cheers

Hey Mate, I can not see any reason the backplate wont work with the standard air-cooler, other than getting your hands on the correct length screws.

Maybe have a search through a few other sites, like XS/HardOCP as well? Cannot recally anyone over here that have done it, but in theory, should be a simple mod.

Wrt the rad, I have decided to keep it, sorry guys, someone was asking about it earlier too. I picked up a very nice and clean XW6600 dual-quad HP Workstation from C-Buzz (thanx Ben!) yesterday, and will be watercooling that rig soon, so the Feser 240 will come in handy.

It will form the new basis for my process simulator, while I will sell the hardware in the HP Blackbird, which will be modernised with somewhat newer dual hexcore hardware.

Time for e-peen.

Heya Guys,
Thanx for looking I will be finishing the wiring off tomorrow, took a few shots of it in test-mode - blegh, even for such a small system, lots of wires lying about.

But, it would be nice to show the progress shots, and then, right at the end, the before and after - tell you what, the Turnigy wiring's going to look pretty decent with it's custom lengths all over, and routed exactly where I want them to go.

Will most likely also try to squeeze the AAE5 in on the 5.25" opening, and make a quick set of custom brackets - if there is enough space between it and the rad's end tank.

If not, I will mount it facing the same side as the power-button-panel, which I was actually hoping to move to the front.....don't like it on the side.

I have made custome switch/led pcb's a while back for another project, and will use one of those.

But, jumping the gun a bit, more pics tomorrow night

Ah, soz Mate, just to tired tonight to be doing the fine/concentration work. Currently setting up Server R2 on a box I picked up from C-Buzz yesterday, will keep me busy till bed-time, and first thing in the morning I will tackle the wiring.

New day, fresh mental state, as today was just pretty tiring with shit on here happening, and busy at work.

All good, we may lose a battle here and there, but farkit if we will lose the War
