Default New screen - which technology?

I'm after a new screen. I find my 21.5" too small. I do like that it's LED backlit and cheap to run. Don't like that it's only 60hz as I use 75hz at work which is pretty boss.

I'm not up to date on all the latest monitor technologies... is there such a thing as a 120hz IPS panel (I hear e-IPS is no good) ? If so that would be great.

Otherwise, what technology is current best (under $200)

well all comes down to what you want
for FPS gaming most ppl will go with an 120hz TN monitor for the fast refresh rate but make sure ur video card will get that fps or else hmm pointless having a 120hz monitor
for any general use eg movies, web surfing, graphic design. go with a IPS dells ones always good
i use a dell IPS my self for gaming i found i like the rich color over the 120fps smoothness

Yeah I mainly play FPS games/shooters. 120hz screens are expensive, because of the 3D etc.

I'd be happy with a screen that is 120hz and not 3D capable as I have no desire for 3D.

Refresh rate comes before colour accuracy and viewing angles for me.

just because you have a 120hz screen, doesn't mean you HAVE to run it in 3D mode.
120hz isn't 3D, it's just that the 3D drivers limit 3D to screens that support 120hz or higher as a quality control. (lower refresh rates will look crap in 3D)

If yr close to the city, maybe take a walk around capitol square on george st and see what looks good to you. There are masses of monitors on display and will give u a feel for what u like and dislike.

Pictures may tell a thousand words, but I trust my peepers more.
