Have a look in bios for me if you dont mind (next time you reboot) or in AiTuner etc and see what voltages they show at 2400c10.

Ram volts set @ 1.65v which is stock for them. But stock speed is 2600mhz. Haven't tried lower.

I just checked bios & there is no vccsa/10 in my GB Assasin.2 bios.

Can do 3d bench runs all day @ 4.6Ghz/2400mhz stock mem timings/volts. Have not even touched the timings yet.

Just tried to boot again @ 2600 & infinite boot loop of win.

What OC utility does GB use? Voltages might be found there, they should be available for tweaking unless assassin.2 is gimped?? I have access to way more settings than I ever thought possible ....

Picked up a new rig today, got 3930k with H100 to 4.7ghz with 1.352v. 4 x 8GB GSkill 1600 RAM, Asrock extreme 4 board. load is about 75 degrees in Linx. Not sure how much voltage I can knock of that, probably not much, been busy copying stuff.

What's safe temp max on these?

Found it's not stable at 1.35v 4.7ghz, so knocked it up to 1.38, hasn't crashed yet

Dammit, i just found out im either doing something wrong, or missing something, because i cant change my vcore on my Assassin 2 board.
I changed it to 1.45 and it still comes up as stock voltage.

anyone had experience with the assassin 2 board? whats the best way/settings to overclock my I7. I have seen people get 4.7,4.8 easily with there 3930s, and i feel i am missing out on something.
I have yet to do a bios update, but the newest updates dont mention anything about vcore.

No offence man, but my 2011 Ass.2 was a total nightmare. Worst mobo I've ever used. After a few weeks battling with it I gave up. Couldn't even get 4.6Ghz runs with my 3930k. But with my Asus Ramp, I can easily bench at 5.1Ghz no prob exactly the same cpu.

I have a 2012 one. I have applied the latest bios update and that has fixed the voltage issue.
I am actually pretty impressed, the killer nic works fine, onboard hardware x-fi is freaking spectacular to be honest.
Its quieter then my old pci x-fi!!

I think i have tracked down my overclock issue, my waterblock isnt handling the excess heat, OR needs to be lapped.

Are sb-e chips known for flat IHC's? or would lapping be recommended.

I could just have a hot cpu, it was pushing 72 degrees at 1.392 volts, at 4.5 gig.

Its sitting at 40 degrees at idle atm. 4.4 gig.

1.39 is a fair bit of juice imo, try lower or lower your daily clock and juice too, find a happy medium.

yea, re-applied thermal paste, and its now stable at 4.4gig, at 1.3461 volts.
Cant get that 4.5 barrier, i think its my waterblock. Under OCCT (with HT turned on) im getting 71 degrees on core 1, and it bluescreens my PC.

Need a new water block methinks!

It's the mobo mate. Had exactly the same problems, high voltages, shit temps, unstable as fuaark ect... Also, what do you mean you've got the 2012 one? The Assasin 2 is Socket 2011.
