I've been looking into getting a multi effects pedal (like a boss gt series), and wondering if anyone here runs their PC in this role instead with guitar rig or amplitube.
I'm up for a new sound card anyway, so does anyone do the above? If so, why card and software are you using and what's the lag like when using ASIO drivers. Thanks! |

Click to view full-sized image! Sure do, except I run an A/B/Y setup so I can flip to the amp or the Waves Multirack on my mac - they are two completely stand alone systems. Gigged with it on the weekend, was very cool, gave me some big variety in tone and I could run both at the same time for a very big tone in the PA! Latency isn't noticeable, I keep the sample rate very low tho and the signal chain free of anything that isn't essential (Tuner -> Dist -> PEQ -> Amp Sim -> H-Delay -> H-Comp). I use a MOTU Microbook as the interface and out into the J48 DI. |

Never actually thought to run it through the FX loop, will swap out my Boss GT3 for the Guitar Rig Kontrol board and see how it compares.
