Mini review of the ACHIEVA Shimian QH270-Lite Quad HD 60Hz (US$280 from the same seller), here; another review here. I'm impressed, and definitely thinking about one of these now.

For $300 I know it won't overclock so won't even bother but a 2560 X 1440 IPS screen @ 60hz is all I need.

I'm interested in knowing if you can calibrate them sufficiently for photography work, and if the colour reproduction is sufficiently stable. A couple of people mentioned calibrating them (I've read about 20 pages of this thread), but I didn't see anything about how they perform long term in this regard.

Edit: found plenty of information here.

My monitor from GreenSum arrived today.

http://imgur.com/a/7sWOE

It has a hairline scratch of dead pixels in the bottom right corner. No big deal, can never really notice it in actual use. I assume it is a scratch or some debris is stuck under the panel. Pixel fixing apps made no difference.

The only thing I am really noticing with this monitor after moving from my 24" is that it feels kinda weird. Like it's sitting too high and too far from the wall, or rather like I am sitting too close to it. Perhaps I just need to get used to the extra size.

The front of the screen is approx 18cm from the wall when the monitor is right up against the wall with the stand. Currently my eyes are something like 70-75cm away from the screen.

Must be because mine was earlier invoice maybe? I had #268.

I have so-far overclocked mine to 85hz

Tried 100hz but think it didnt work perfectly... but will try higher again when I get a gtx 680 at some point. But wow 1440p IPS is jaw-dropping :O

Good times

Also a video guide for overclocking the Q270 (nvidia, but AMD guide in channel too):

How long is that likely to last? Are these monitors good for overclocking long term?

If you do get 120hz... let me know if you can actually tell the dif between 60hz. At the moment 60hz feels super smooth to me. I can't imagine 120hz being much smoother. Which is why I'm looking to get a second hand one.

Both my monitors arrived today with zero dead pixels. Ordered on Thursday night and arrived the next Tuesday, can't complain about that.

It took a bit of screwing around to them working under Linux because they don't auto detect correctly. Eventually I found the setting that got it sorted so they're both up and running at 60Hz.

I'm in desperate need of a decent monitor stand however. Warcom have a dual one for $280-ish but I could get a 3rd screen for that... any suggestions?

Id like to be able to have hdmi connectivity so I'm looking at paying slightly more.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/YAMAKASI-...ht_8916wt_1159

No real difference other than the extra inputs would that be correct? I read somewhere in this thread that it may cause input lag? can anyone confirm/deny this?
