Default Z77 or Z68 for i52500K (wont upgrade cpu till next gen)

Hey guys. Ive decided to go an i52500k in my next build. After OC'ing ill be happy with this cpu for atleast 12 months id say. Just wondering if i would see any substantial benefits if i bought a Z77 Mobo new over say...A used Z68 higher end Mobo used.

As far as I know Z77 offers native USB 3.0 support, PCI-e 3.0 support with Ivy Bridge and higher ram frequencies without overclocking? Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong here.

As a point - the next generation is using socket LGA1150 not 1155, so whatever motherboard you choose won't be compatible with the Haswell CPUs. If you're intending on upgrading your CPU then I wouldn't spend up big on the Z77 motherboard - grab a bargain Z68 secondhand and save your cash.

Get the Ivy Bridge 3570k if you want to overclock, that way you will also have pcie 3.0 support.

I'm currently running a Z68 ASrock with bios updated to accept IB, this mobo also supports pcie 3.0.

Either way both Z77 and Z68 motherboards are fairly well priced.

i think i will upgrade to haswell if its a bump up so maybe ill just go used z68 and drop the extra cash into 7970 or gtx670? im sure ill be happy with the upgrade over my sig and sli/xfire on the haswell when its time.
