Default Text to audio program

I'm looking for a piece of free software that will allow me to convert text into audio and export it as an MP3 or similar.

I'm only looking for free, because I'll only use it once, and I would prefer something that isnt web based.

If somebody has experience with something like this, feel free to comment

You should include useful information... like your operating system for starters.

Windows 7 has an inbuilt text to speech tool... you can look into that, if you're using Win7 that is.

Oh yeah, using win7. Had no idea it had that feature. But does it allow you to save it to MP3?

EDIT: As far as I can see, it would allow me to here the text as audio, but I would need a secondary program to actually record it....Could be done still maybe

You can use Audacity to record it. Free and easy. Just hit the record button and when you're done you can export to mp3.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

If you need help there are some good tutorials accessible through the app or post back and I'll give you a hand.
