Default Logitech Harmony Remote issue

I recently bought a Harmony 650 remote as a box shipped from Melbourne to Perth with all my remotes in was lost by the useless courier company. Anyway, the 650 is awesome and I got the PlayStation 3 adapter was well.

The only thing is after about a week of having it the screen doesn't dim/turn off, it's always on and a new set of batteries was dead within a week. Anyone else have this issue with the Harmony Remotes? I have goolged a solution and tried setting it up again. No good!

I have one with a screen (can't remember the model). It's always been fine.

Sounds like a warranty issue, although this http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmon...ry/td-p/459203 says to try updating the firmware.

Maybe reloading the config will work? Make a small change using the software to force an update.

There is no option to download firmware in the software, just what's in this image

I managed to get it into SAFE MODE but nothing happens then..

I have just added a few things and resync'd the remote. Backlight is still on! Damnit!

Yeah, I wasn't thinking firmware update, just the config, and you've done that. Looks like warranty repair then...

Never had the issue, and sounds to me like a warranty claim. I would firstly shoot an email off to Logitech support and see what they have to say, then go from there.

I have the 650 also not had this problem, could try Devices/Display Settings and make glow longer.

I've had the same with two different Logitech models: backlight staying on which drains the batteries. Gave up a few years ago and stuck with all the original remotes instead (and chasing them down the back or under the lounge...its still less frustrating). It was so annoying when trying to watch a movie in a dark room and the remote is lit up like a lamp, I'd have to bury it under cushions anyway.
