WoTLK didn't keep me interested so I cancelled my sub soon after the ICC patch. I actually have a few ICC boss kills in my achievements from WoTLK but I honestly don't even remember being there for them, that is how much of a chore the game had become by that stage.

The most fun I had playing wow was in TBC. Everything about it was just right and part of that was the group of people that I was playing with, we made good progression and had an absolute blast doing it. I was in the same guild in WoTLK but towards the end a lot of people started taking progression far too seriously and forgot to balance it with actually enjoying the game. I also loved levelling in TBC,I didn't mind it in WoTLK, but absolutely loathed it in cata (except for uldum). I'm hoping that mists will be a great levelling experience again.

I have found myself really not enjoying raiding much anymore either. The people I'm playing with at the moment are nice enough but the content just isn't engaging and I feel like I don't really have anywhere to go in terms of improving my character besides a little more gear. I'm back to where I was in WoTLK thinking about everything else I'd rather be doing while the raid is on.

From what I've seen, it's mostly the progression raiders that put the effort in to farm the full sets of gear (or have theirs chilling in the bank from previous raiding). On my server there's something like 3 Paladins (including myself) total rocking full T5 with matching boots/belt/cloak etc. It's the little details that count.

I love it. No more looking stupid in random mishmash gear that dosnt match. That said I take time to farm pieces that match

My druid can run around in full wildheart. The first full set of gear I've ever farmed. What's not to love about it?

I personally think in a word. No. It'll recover some of the losses but most of the people who quit during Cata I would expect to not come back again

A lot of people will probably come back to experience the MoP story but it will drop off again sharply after the first couple of patches.

I don't know that blizzard ever expected WoW to be as popular as it was at its height though? They can lose a lot of subscribers and still boast a hugely profitable game. We generally expect that computer games have a shelf life so it isn't really surprising.

just logged into WoW for the first time in a while...
Blackrock Stormwind in DEAD!

Logged off.
WoW is over. MoP wont revive what is lost. It is a stupid concept regardless.
Rift, SWTOR, GW2, BF3, D3 (fail) to continue on with. With so many games now offering a F2P model there are cheaper and just as good alternatives to WoW.

WoW is not over. Many Blackrock alliance have transferred to frostmourne these days. That's why it seems so quiet now. While MoP won't recover all the loses a fair few will definately come back and If it's a huge improvement alot more will resub (if only to take a look) after a a major patch or two.

Sick of seeing people saying " hurr WoW is over". GW2, F2P swtor (won't make a dent), rift, Aion, DCUO, Tera, secret world etc will not kill WoW. When it's time it'll wrap up of its own accord not because xxx game is a "wow killer"

20k people on BR Alliance, 130k+ on Horde.

One faction on one server.

What is an easy grinding toon at 80 with little down time?

Getting a friend to SoR me this week as I feel like playing again but would like to re-roll to see what Cata did to the Vanilla stuff.

Was either thinking of getting a tank as I cbf levelling one or something that is easy to farm with. What would be the best way to go? I assume a lock / dk / huntard as you've got life a bit easier when it comes to soloing mobs?

Thanks!

DK, hands down, is the easier and fastest to solo to 80. Run around in Blood spec, never ever have to stop for health if just questing.

for farming only i'd say druid, instant cast flight form and there is alot of nodes you can get without having to shape shift at all. They're pretty easy and fast to level too

SoR gives you a free level 80 of your choice anyway. So I'm thinking of making it purely to have as a good grind / profession toon.

Likely to roll a shaman or something as I've never really played one, but who knows.....
