Awesome. Any Vita players that have bought Wipeout HD or Fury on their PS3's now get access to the full campaigns as well as cross platform play. Awesome awesome. Got to love free stuff.

Must say I'm enjoying the old Final Fantasy PSP games. In the middle of FF4 atm.

Remember, you can tap and hold on the screen in any PSP game to bring up the settings menu. Select Bi-linear filtering, will make most PSP games look a little better.

Sony Having Difficult Time Getting Third Party Support For The PS Vita

http://thesilentchief.com/2012/08/08...r-the-ps-vita/

Quote:
As we approach the first anniversary of the PS Vita’s Japanese debut, worldwide sales of Sony’s flashy new portable system can be described as slow but steady.

Despite an initial offering of what has been described as one of the strongest software lineups for any piece of hardware, Sony is still finding it difficult to attract third party developers to the Vita.

“We’re having a more difficult time than we had anticipated in terms of getting support from third-party publishers, but that’s our job,” Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studio President Shuhei Yoshida told PlayStation: The Official Magazine in a recent interview.

“We will continue to talk to development communities and publishing partners and tell them why Vita can provide a great experience for the IPs they have and I hope the Assassin’s Creed game will prove that.

The exploding popularity of mobile/ social sector has developers anxious to shift focus to that growing market, according to Yoshida. However, he still believes Sony can attract small, independent studios with the Vita and PS Mobile.

Coupled with the terrible sales in Japan (The 3DS has sold half on the Vita LTD in the last two weeks) and loss of 3rd party support, is the Vita done?
The question is, will it ever pick up? They'd better start praying that AC does extremely well, I don't see what is supposed to attract 3rd parties here at all

sony needs to open the fuck up. it costs far too much to publish on vita / ps3 / psn. same with MS as well, nintendo not so much, but still a pain.

the market is changing, but sony and the others still have these old, die-hard prices, rules, trc's etc

every studio ive got friends at, large or small, including mine, is considering PC and / or social now.

the other thing is, MS / Sony pre-approve a title to be on their platform. unless you have tons of money, they can yay/nay a title, even if its mostly done (or port from another platform)

i think if these companies dont change thier ways, most devs are going to go back to PC / selfpublish

A problem I have is with the release of some titles... Sf x tekken classic example. PS3/360/PC have been out for ages... Where the hell is the vita version??? Why is it coming out in OCTOBER?

A HUGE title for the vita is going to be little big planet... I'd have thought they would have pushed for this game to be a release title... But no. Sept. where is Final Fantasy X HD? Is that even happening now? At the moment i regret getting my vita, I love it... But the lack of new and upcoming decent games makes it unappealing.

so tl;dr they're making the same mistake they did with the psp? I'm still hoping it'll do better, it's a powerhouse of a handheld.

OUYA will most certainly kill Nintendo's living room presence, so they should definitely be changing their strategy.

I doubt that very much, OUYA will never be more than niche product.
It's way under powered & the creators stance on being DRM free will scare off a lot of developers.

Fair enough. Personally I think Nintendo will be a third party developer for IOS and Android within 5years.

Yep, looks great, so far has been announced for PlayStation All-Stars, Sly Cooper and Ratchet & Clank QForce. I'll probably buy all three just to support it.
