It must be alright. For the last month or so every weekend a mate of mine keeps spamming facebook with 'mmmm honey', and the like.

is it supposed to be drank straight?

I'd imagine the honey to be lost if you mix it with coke...

I've actually never had it either, but I'm curious now and would be worth a sip or two

I would say have some american honey it is damn smooth and tastes good for the price. I know I would generally drink Chivars or Glenfiddich but if I see American Honey on one of its 2 for $50 or $60 deals I will pick it up.

I also may try some Jack and Honey if I see it.

Got a bottle of it last week. American honey is slightly better. This one isnt as overpowering on the honey front like american honey is which makes it easier to drink. However the flavour profile isnt very complex.

If you want something REALLY good get the Evan Williams honey reserve. Same price as the others except the honey is well balanced with the drink and you still get nice complex flavours.

Tried it in duty free before flying to Malaysia last week. Was pleasant enough to drink.

American Honey is brilliant when chilled.
Jack Daniels Honey is pretty average.

Have heard good things about the Evan Williams, but yet to try it myself.

Went to the "Jack's Hive" pop-up bar closing night a few weeks ago, where they were serving it neat (and about 5 cocktails) all night (for free ).

Surprisingly good. I didn't think I'd be able to stand it neat, but I liked it - very smooth, and sweet, but not overly so. Great in the cocktails they made too.

Cheers,
- Febs.

Im getting a little sick of people buying me shots of the American honey - it's still just drinking straight bourbon, blergh. I assume the JD equivalent will be plonked in front of me at some stage now, although I think I like the idea better.

What I can recommend is the beam black cherry. If you know a good bartender have them knock up a Manhattan with it. Thank me later.
