No filters. Just clear water and the highest f-stop the light will allow me.

Hope the setup is going well for you Johnno.

Scientific name is Pelvicachromis taeniatus "Dehane". A natural variant of taeniatus found in the Nyong River, Cameroon, and are a legal import into Australia. Do best in pairs, fantastic parents, easy to breed - we had them breeding and raising their fry well in the store in only a 30cm cube. P. taeniatus variants are a good example of evolution and the development different fish of the same species have in different conditions/

Edit: The variant names are generally named after rivers/collection points much like many other locale variants of fish around the world. Dehane is a town located on the Nyong River.

If those photos are of two different fish, correct. Females will usually have a purple belly, and won't have the spotted pattern in the caudal fin.

Well i ripped the 3d background off and just went with a black background. I have set it up for a pair or Archer fish. My only problem: They wont eat! Tried all sorts of live, flake, pellet foods etc. Hope they get hungry soon

Not suppose to fill it up. There is meant to be an area where they can hunt their live bugs etc.

How long have they been in the tank? Probably just settling in. Leave them alone for a couple of days to chill out. Maybe run the lights a little less long too for a little while.

One of my dream tanks would be a 2 story aquarium. Bottom level would be where the tank is housing freshwater fish. then on the second story incorporate a terrarium into the top of the tank where i would house green tree frogs and maybe a few lizards. It would have enough overhanging branches for me to put instects onto so the animals can hunt their own food. Would be great to have a lounge set up to watch the archer fish shoot their dinner out of the leaves

So from downstairs it would look like a tank that went right up to the roof. Then upstairs it would look like there is a pond in the floor with a rock wall running up the wall behind it.
