OKAY. So i sold my sig rig ages ago to move to NZ, which was great for a time..I could deal with the notebook.
BUT...Im bored, and i miss my PC. So I thought it would be neato to build me another. I wanted to build this rig using most if not all parts from the OCAU sales section, as I had not purchased anything from here as of yet. So i set to spamming the WTB section and skulking about the FOR SALE threads. As of posting this build log I have everything except Mobo (bought one of ebay and i appear to have been stung with no responses to messages) RAM and PSU ( still awaiting the right ones to come along...feel free to try sell me yours ). Also note that the GPU im using i already had. I was going to pay it forward to a mate..but i could use it to pinch some pennies. So here is where we stand. CASE = Corsair 800D (Purchased from member Jazz, cheers for driving to meet me) CPU = Intel Core i5-2500K (Purchased from member Campster123, really neat postage, well packed and great condition, even left me the Intel sticker lol, cheers) GPU= Sapphire 6970 2gb STORAGE = seagate 2tb ST2000DM001 7200, thanks to 2sick, all the storage i need and for a bargain. OS DRIVE = For this one im going to try my first SSD. It's a Gskill Falcon 128GB SSD which ive just (at the time of writing) purchased from some Darkbastard. Looking forward to trying it out. My plan is to paint (exterior white, interior gunmetal) and do some mini mods to the 800D, watercool the cpu (was thinking gpu but ill upgrade in 6 months and cant arsed) using red coolant (flame away or stear me to the ok stuff cheers) OK so ihavent done this before, ill leave it as is and figure out how to resize the pics ive taken so far, be back shortly with the edit and pics thus far

about to upload some pics now. Im going for a White paint job on the 800D, to combat the bar fridge effect, im painting the interior gunmetal grey, and ill be incorporating as much red as possible.
Ill be Watercooling, but only the CPU to start with.

So on the topic of watercooling...I know its not the best way to go as far as performance, but this being a budget build, and me having never done it, i was thinking about going with a complete kit. They are cheap, and im sure you only get what you pay for, but from what ive read they are a good entry into watercooling.

The build is up n running. I didnt rivet it all back just yet as i think ill need to tear it down to fit rads and other things. That and i need to replace the floor with some U.V white acrylic. Ive named it the "Meowkill Creation Station V-2"
Here are some images, not sure how to upload bigger ones to the thread, but thumbnails will do. Obviously its not yet finished, i was quite lazy with the painting and rushed through it, but it turned out well, its like a fridge lol. The floor wil be removed once i decide what i want to do with it. And cable management is just temporary so be kind. Ghetto test bed Click to view full size! Click to view full size! Click to view full size! WHITE Click to view full size! Click to view full size! Click to view full size! I forgot how it went back together O_O Click to view full size! Click to view full size! Phase 2 still to come Click to view full size! Click to view full size! So still alot of work to be done..heaps more modding, sleeving and time. Let me know what you guys think, and id love any suggestions you guys have...want to mod the front panel somehow, make it look a little less boring

If you wan't it to look less like a fridge I would recommend flat sanding and then cut/polish. Works wonders, but only if you have a heavy top coat of paint.
