Centrecom had them on sale for $25, so I decided to replace my old worn out SteelSeries QCK. They might be old news to most of you hardcore guys, but I'd still like to share my experience with it. Mouse being used is a TTe Theron.
For those of you not familiar with the XFX warpad, its "selling point" is the fact it clips onto the desk in a ramp/wraparound kinda fashion, allowing no bottom edge of the matt, or the edge of the desk for your forearm to brush up against. It's also huge, and apparently can be used to wrap around a keyboard if you LAN (I don't, but thought I'd mention it anyways) It is also about 4 times the thickness of the old QCK, but even so still feels solid underneath and offers a faster surface in comparison also. I'm not normally a fan of fast pads, but due to its sheer overall comfort, I will perservere and get used to it. Overall very very impressive. Is anyone else using one of these? Pros: Clip on desk for no bottom edge Large Size Thickness Silky smooth movement Cons: (only if these things are issues for you?) Large Size Plain Black May not clip onto a stupidly thick desk?????? Overall, I absolutely love it. A huge improvement and if something ever happened to it, I would consider paying normal RRP for another one (around $50!!!) |

Thanks! I like it. I think a new mouse and two of these just made it to the list of things to buy. List is getting bigger faster than the money is coming in.

I can however justify the money for this pad. No more arm pain at all is worth $25

Looks similar to the OCZ Behemoth ... cloth on top + thick foam.
You may want to do a flick-test: lightly flick your mouse on the pad and see how far/easy does it glide around. You also play COD4 TDM on internode yes? Saw that name a few times there.

forgot about these, had meant to get hold of one at some point.
cheers for the reminder the front edge on my mousepads always wears out first, due to overhang and the way i position my wrist/arm on my desk, and because where the mousepad sits on my desk requires a slight bit of reach so i basically have to rest my wrist/arm on the mousepad for comfort in extended sittings. i can use my current (not too worn out) mousepad at lans, since i dont think this mat would be suitable for use on the tables my regular lans use edit: no longer on sale at centrecom (or $25 price listed on their site, at least) checking staticice seems a couple places have them around the $25 mark edit2: just ordered one from PLE

update to this, mine arrived earlier in the week.
great mousepad! perfect fit on my desk. though im lucky my desk edge isnt any thicker (about 50mm?). its not moving anywhere in a hurry now that its on there though lol as OP said, they are very large, had to rearrange my desk somewhat to fit it. top end sits quite a ways back on my desk, had the end touching/overlapping onto monitor stand. had to offset the mousemat slightly from where i'd prefer, to avoid that. not a big deal, not in any way uncomfortable where it sits now. very smooth (which is a plus for me, prefer smooth mousepads over textured), and quite comfortable for long gaming sessions with the way i like to rest my forearm. hard to comment on improved accuracy or anything like that, however i seemed to be better able to compensate for recoil with the aek-971 rifle (slightly hard rifle to master recoil) in BF3 lately, so it could have been the factor that helped there. certainly hasnt hurt accuracy anyway, and with the increased arm comfort i cannot complain

Certainly bigger the better for me. I'll have a look into these.

About to bite the bullet and buy one of these bad boys, but can anybody tell me more about the surface, how smooth is it, something like a Razer Goliathus Speed or not as fast? I am using a QCK Mass and i think it is a nice surface.
It's a very comfortable pad and quite thick, my wrist however screams for the Edgeless support system...

can't comment on comparison with that mat.
my old mat was a coolermaster 'storm tactics' (the one with the humorous FPS related icon pictures on it). its slightly smoother than that - but its like not like its totally slick and shiny, it still has some resistance to it. my mouse (sidewinder x8 with the smooth feet on it) doesnt fling off the desk or anything, just moves nice and easily
