Default Experiences with OCZ replacement?

I recently had my first SSD expire on me and am in talks with one of the OCZ RMA guys regarding exchanging it for a better/more reliable drive.

The deceased drive in question if the not so famous Petrol 128gb. It had all the problems that come up when you google them. So i asked if i could have an upgrade...he said he will ask his boss.

Anyway...
If anyone has had a similar deal with OCZ i'd like to hear about it?
Also, where do they require the dead hdd be posted to? and what is the turn around time for a usual replacement drive to be returned from wherever it is that it comes from?

Not personally but from my reading it's not uncommon for dead ssd's to be replaced with Agility 3's etc so hopefully you'll have a similar experience.

Just an update...

I posted my dead Petrol 128gb off after confirming with the OCZ rep that i could opt for a better, more reliable drive. They offere me one of the 120gb Octanes initially and i agreed to taking it. Then he came back an hour later and told me that they did not have any of the Octane drives in stock so they would be giving me an Agility 3 120gb. I no complain.

So postage cost me around $23 with international tracking and insurance. It took 6 days to reach OCZ and another 2 days before they shipped my new drive back to me. Currently waiting for the new drive to arrive so i can RAID0 it with the one i bought the other day.

I have since replaced the Petrol with a 40GB Intel SSD. All it needs to contain is my Windows install and my iRacing sim stuff. It should all fit by the looks of it.

Anyway, a positive experience with OCZ

In May I was given a Vertex 3 when my 120GB Vertex2 crapped itself after 18 months, that was through PCCG and took a month.

Moving my boot drive from a Vertex3 to a Corsair Force3 was the best move i ever made.

I feel that OCZ have HUGE quality problems with their SSDs.

I RA'd a 240-250gb vertex 2 through OCZ... was shit scared that I would be asked for receipt as it has been mentioned on these forums many times.... but nothing was even hinted at regarding this aspect of it all...

The RA experience with them was easy... shipped via auspost express to taiwan i think it was, sure it cost me what $25 but that was 12 months ago when prices of SSD's where still pretty exxy!

Got a new one back in the mail in less than a week.

Top notch service!

I had OCZ ssd expire on me, posted to Taiwan, and took 4 weeks to receive the replacement. Apart from having to pay for postage and the long wait, it was a positive outcome.
