Been playing it for most of the day and having a blast. Love the setting and added RPG elements. I still prefer War as a character but enjoying adopting a more agile play style for this game.
The puzzles are good in that they allow a good flow without being overly simplified though I'm sure some people would prefer more challenging tasks. My only gripe is that the story seems a little contrived so far. I'm hoping they bring it together towards the end. Oh n the music is scored really well for this game, big improvement over the first which in itself was good. Battles in particular are punctuated by the music very well.

FWIW, I have confirmed that any advanced video options, are best driven via your Graphic Card 3D Options. I'm on a nVidia 560TI, so I make a profile for the Darksiders 2 .exe and apply video tweaks as desired.
Vertical Sync was one that the game settings didn't really seem to apply. I feel it actually started working (at least better than just in-game option) after setting in the 3D profile. Hopefully that helps some folks, because I was leaning into the WTH club, upon seeing the default rendering for this game on PC. The listed settings helped me overcome that.

I stopped playing a few weeks ago but i was up to around the 20 hour mark and i'm quite sure judging by the area i'm at I should be a bit further than the half way point.

So, picked this up during the sales and they still haven't added the advanced graphics options/still have the godawful menus. Fixes most probably aren't coming. Thank fuck for radeon pro, sweetfx and flawless widescreen.
Perf/menu issues aside, bunch of niggly design bits that don't make sense to me now that I'm playing the game proper though. If I pick up the key and get to the locked door it should be natural to unlock the door then open it, for some reason the game assumes you just want to unlock it and leave it alone - it splits this process into two parts when it should really be one. In the first mini dungeon theres a section where you have to press a button then jump over some lava bits, if you make it to the next platform and fall trying to get the next bit, you'll respawn on the platform you were on before you fell. Which isn't bad in itself but you also have to go back and hit the button again. The focus/lockon, I had an issue with it in the first game too. People do abuse it and they've kept it awkward for people by forcing you to hold LT and using LB as a modifier for your skills. Ideally it'd be a persistent lock on where you'd only press it once to lock on/off. Hopefully that's it for the small issues though, so far I'm having more fun with it than the first. The art direction while is fair generic it's enjoyable, makes for some fantastic scenes.

tl;dr: the game tries to do a lot of things and does them at a very mediocre level. Probably enjoyable if you've never played games from the genre before. The first is a more enjoyable game overall IMO.
Well, I'm pretty over this game. 9 hours in, it certaintly doesnt feel like 9 hours as you spend most of your time doing things that shouldn't take anywhere near as long as they do. The platforming is plagued by the low fov, a lot of the time you can't actually see where you're meant to go next while hanging on ledges. The camera also doesn't help, some sections get pretty frustrating. One of the bigger issues with the game is that there is no line between open world and dungeon, the entire game feels like a big dungeon and it gets tedious. The gameplay sections don't feel apart of the story either, you're supposedly travelling between world but it's more like you're jumping between one dungeon to the other. The controls/camera aren't exactly a mess but they aren't good either. There's situations where you have to swap between your accesories and the game doesn't give you a quick way to do this, you either have to access the quick menu or assign them to the spell menu - thats at least as far as I can tell, I can't actually find out because the game doesn't have a controls menu nor does steam offer a manual for it. The equips are pretty much a moot point for the game and mostly seem cosmetic, enemies that don't do much damage are still going to do little and enemies that hit hard are still going to hit hard. If anything it scales too well with what you get, there isn't any reason to go looking for more equips. The combat is exactly the same as the first, except you don't actually any get many solid combat sessions. Most of the bosses have the typical gimmick and outside of that the main chunks of the combat are scattered around the map or the occasional locked room/waves of enemies. It'd probably be better if the platforming sections didn't break it up as often as it does. You're also given a number of quests, except without an actual quest log. Which is pretty silly as I can't tell if I've left any quests back in the other worlds. I may visit the game again when I'm bored but I do think that is going to be awhile.

Just got it recently. One of the buggiest games I've ever played! Seriously, it froze when I changed settings, the camera sucks, I get stuck in certain views (eg somehow got stuck in shift lock...) and all this within the first hour. Plus it constantly jumps. And I've got a decent PC, i7 3930k, GTX 580, 32gb ram, etc. It's almost unplayable.

Would updating the drivers help? I'm on an older (302) driver for Borderlands 2. I might give it a shot sometime.

I don't think much could, short of the game not loading up at all.
