Yeah i agree with Shadow. If you wanna buy something that has lots of grunt and you just wanna kick arse in gaming and be done with it then the 690 is a great choice! If you wanna play around with tweaking and OCing and looking for numbers as well, grab a custom pcb non reference 680 because they kick arse and have a ton of potential plus you can buy as many cards as you want according to what you wanna do. Easy upgrade and downgrade..

Plus right now you can get two 680,s a shitload cheaper than a 690 if you look around..

P.S Does anyone need an EK full waterblock for a 680 DCII ? Still got it as new never used! CHEAP*

ASUS MARS III first look.

Quote:
Beyond the fact it’s labelled as having 8GB of GDDR5 memory and two GTX 680 GPUs, the details are not available yet. Furthermore the graphics team strongly express it’s not yet final design, but they still had one running to show off the anticipated performance. Check the pics below for a first look at this next generation beast.

what you guys talking about, i've already ordered 2 to be used as my boat anchors and another 2 for benching + 1 more for my dog milly to play with

Think i'll give these a miss, i've got a new toy to play with now :P and they say Boat stands for "break out another thousand"! so might be trading gfx cards for boating gear :P maybe...

I think I'm running out of vram.

I think it's sacrilege to have "RED" on an Nvidia based card. I'm not a fanboi, I like me AMD's as well and wouldn't like them in "GREEN". It's just not right!

Yeah from all reports the stock cooler is shit, the only thing going for it is the ref PCB makes it easy to source water blocks or use something like an Arctic cooler.

I ran Heaven for an hour or so and passed a few 3Dmark11 runs @ 1200MHz, although Afterburner and GPUz say max clocks are 1250MHz, I get random freezing past that so it looks like thats the limit for at least one of them, memory was stock.

I decided against internal exhaust after my last cards, these are silent till ~55% fan speed, upwards of 70% they get pretty loud. The default auto fan profile let them get to ~73c and didn't go above 56% at stock clocks.

I'm running 120Hz surround with three S27A950's, although it looks like I'll have to get a DP cable now to connect the third monitor, NV control panel says I have to plug all monitors into the same GPU when running SLI .

TO USE COOK FUNCTION: Take off HSF, place frying pan directly on chip.

TO USE CLEAN FUNCTION: Take removed HSF and place spinning fans over dust.
