Unlikely, depending on the phone. The WP7 security model is insanely tight on the second-gen phones like the Lumia 800. First-gen phones like the HTC Mozart/Trophy have been rooted, so perhaps we could see some action there.

Rumoured release for Windows 8 - November.

Also - download the app W Phone 8 for a bit of experimentation on what the WP8 phone start screen will look like.

Been reading into rumored devices upon release. The rumor of a Nokia Lumia Pureview has me very excited. However, this mockup design of what a POTENTIAL device could look like if Microsoft where to make a brother to the Surface Tablet. Not sure if you guys have seen this picture - I for one think this is the best looking phone thus far.

The leaked SDK for Windows Phone 8 is showing us a lot more of the features we can expect to have with the upcoming release. Good to see microsoft listening to what people want and need in this software build. Many improvements!

News is a couple of days old but still wortwhile.

PureView Windows 8 device from Nokia.
http://www.wpcentral.com/leaked-imag...-windows-phone

The leak images seem to show up something quite different from anything else seen in the past. Concave curve on the screen. Camera sporting a 41mPix sensor. Tack on a nice set of camera software with it and I will finally be able to have my pocketable camera with me at all times in the form of one of these babies!

Going out to take photos I'll bring the SLR but if it's the odd happy-snap then this will do the business!

I dont mind the look of that.
Looks like it would be comfortable to hold, and the 41mp sensor

Well I think WP8 looks awesome and using iOS, Android 2-4v and WP7 I would say WP7 is the best of these. I think we will start to get more and more apps now for W8/WP8 due to the strong link between the 2 and Microsoft's Cloud solutions such as the new Outlook.com, Skydrive and other services are all starting to look quite good.

I know some people have been quite hard on Microsoft of late especially with W8 and the Desktop but I think they are doing some great things at the moment. If you put all of Microsoft's products and service together like, W8, WP8, 2012 Server, Xbox720, MS Cloud solutions they start to look really good.

I think the one thing MS has to get working well is their new Marketplace and have it work nicely across all these platforms.

Hopefully this will be the big announcement of the Windows Phone 8 release.
http://www.wpcentral.com/are-nokia-a...indows-phone-8

Hopefully it will be also backed up with a statement that the phones will be ready for purchase within a very short timeframe from that announcement.

Really hopeful that the announcement will detail the existence and when the availability will be for the PureView variant of the WP8 phone!
