Default GeForce GTX 590 Power Minimum Requirements?

Hey guys looking at getting a GTX 590 3GB (2nd Hand)

It says power requirement is 700w and 2x 8Pin power , i currently have a Corsair 620HX which has 2x 8Pin power adapters.

Would my PSU be strong enough for the VGA card? Ive run HD 5870, 8800 Ultra and Currently GTX570.

Just wanted to double check to see if its up to scratch before i make purchase

You'll need to be looking at about 850w for the PSU to be safe.

Depends on the rest of your setup, what are the rest of the specs? I'd say a 700W will power everything fine, a 650W would be pushing it. 620W I'd say not worth risking.

From memory an i7 950/X58/6GB/SSD/3xHDD/GTX590 I built for someone (running stock) was getting around the 600W at peak (running 3dMark and IBT). Not sure if I'm remembering right though.

You,ve been tempted but the $400 gtx590 secondhand... Ultimatey i felt it wass too much too justify given a new gtx680 which performs the same and a much lower power consumption for around the $500 mark... As well as the noise and heat issues..

Might hold off a bit and wait a few months :-)

$250 is a very good price...
Gtx580 go just under that price
If you have the spare cash it's a good buy... I was semi tempted at around $350-$400

according to the Nvidia GeForce GTX590 spec page Minimum system power is 700W Max draw being 385W.

I've run dual o/C'd GTX295's of my HX650W and it's not missed a beat!

I'd probably risk it if that was what I already had. If I was purchasing, then a quality brand from 700+ would be fine I think.

Give it is the lifeblood of a pc people need to purchase accordingly

Is the 590 a massive juice hog? I would have assumed 650W would be alright. My setup is well under the 650W my PSU is rated at but the GPU isn't quite the beast the 590 is.

Little bit of research finds the 590 can pull 500W+ at load (With i7 920, SSD on Asus Rampage II). 650W should suffice, no doubt.

Well it was a top end card not so long ago so I think you wanna get a reasonably decent rated psu if you are going for something around the 650W mark. But ok to use a cheapie for testing.
