Few things I've noticed in the RTM of pro:

No more 'clicks' when you navigate through windows explorer, which is good, I'm sure it could be turned off before, but still it's good not having there by default.

'Metro' is much smoother. They have made the animation much nicer.

For some reason the back/forward navigation buttons in win explorer are smaller than they used to be by default. Seems strange especially with an OS geared towards tablets that they would reduce the size of the buttons.. still it's better for PC's anyway which is what I'm using it on.

No Media center which we knew but still, it's annoying. Can't 'add' it until the release date 26th oct according to this thread:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...4-f0afcc0e675c

Not the end of the world though.

It's even faster shutting down/starting up compared to consumer preview.

That's about it so far, nothing major really, but it does feel more.. quality? than the betas.

Oh also the default windows sounds are new.. and they're pretty good! The "error" sound, it sounds like the first note of the closing credits song from Super Mario 64..

That link got a lot of positive feedback when it landed.

Microsoft could do with hiring folks like that, or some of the RainMeter kids. There are some brilliant UI designers out there in the community. Shame they don't work for Microsoft (or more possibly, aren't listened to by Microsoft management).

Just using the latest. Not bothering to go with anything else right now.

oops, this is bad news. I use this client daily with W7, and haven't not yet tried it with with W8. Is this fixed now?

Yeah defiantly seems faster shutting down..

So today I had another quick go at getting automated unattend working.. success! Setupcomplete.cmd didn't run but that isn't a problem, I can fix that. So now I can deploy win 8 to any machine in about 4 minutes!

Anyone had any luck installing Windows 8 RTM on a usb stick for portability? without it being one of those 32gb ones. Would be handy to be able to carry around a portable OS like i carry ubuntu around.

You can use one of those bit flipper programs to turn your "removable media" into an external hdd, and then it should work (apparently).

It definitely doesn't work with my verbatim 32gb stick.

This is *the most* important and innovative feature of Windows 8, and at the moment it's completely f'd.

What is wrong with it? It doesn't work with your stick - or it doesn't work at all?
