Not sure what range you are shooting at, so I set point blank to 1000 yard zero.

Going crazy waiting for permits to acquire to come through.

Picked up a BRNO fox 2 in .222 rem in fair condition as my first centrefire. Planning to use it for offhand shooting practise and maybe field rifle comps if its good enough.

Also picked up a cheap single barrel Baikal IJ-18 12 gauge with "made in USSR" on the side this will just be for busting a few "yippee" clays and knockabout use.

going to tru oil the BRNO stock but probably leave the metal work as is blueing is slightly faded IIRC. I'll probably have a crack at cerakoting the baikal with air dry cerakote just as a bit of a project.

Ive done air cure and oven cure plenty of times previously (being a former employed gunsmith).

Its ok, but its still not as good as oven imo. Dont get me wrong, its GREAT stuff, but colour and textures are different, and it takes almost 1 month to 100% set. Now that summers coming, id find a nice sunny spot and let it bake in natural sunlight for a few days to speed up the process.

Pics please

It's likely i'll be painting it up in rocky closer to the end of the year to make use of my dad's shed so I don't have to shell out for an air compressor and spray gun. gonna have to shell out for a sand blaster and maybe DIY an oven if I do go the oven cure.

hoping to have the shottie in the safe by end of next week if i'm lucky as I already have a cat A on my licence, think it might be a longer wait on the cat B, damn Queensland PTA's

By the time you shell out for a sandblaster, spraygun and if you got over cure, an oven to house it, you are up for baiscally 1k before you even start the job.

Whats a full cerakote job cost ? $300 ? Plus paint and labor, bargain when you think about it.

The rest of my collection arrived today, excuse the blurry picture. Just a caveat, these are not real guns, but imitations, and they are legal in my state.

Thanks mate, I'll get the digi camera out and take some good shots, they are amazing, with the correct markings and take down the same as the real steel versions.

Ive only handled one once, and never shot it. Heaps of people lothe them and never see them in competition. Im really curious about how they shoot.

Interested in how the toy (for lack of a better word) fells / functions.

It's the M9, the armed forces version, it weighs around 800 grams, so about 100 grams short of the real thing, really has some heft to it. Pick it up and it feels like the real deal, the only thing that gives it away is when cocking it it doesn't have the same ultra metalic click.

Having said that, the imitation has a functioning decocker and safety, if their is no magazine inserted it will lock the slide back, and the same at the end of the magazine as it cycles the last round. It recreates the double action as well, when cocked firing is easy, when not you have a fair old pull to work the trigger. If their is some interest I'd be happy to do a bit of a video of it operating.

Too easy, I'll do one tomorrow night, I'll probably slip the G17 in there as well.
