Curious! I might order a pair and see how long they take to arrive I've got a few ideas of what I might want to do with them, although mostly just to see what they are capable of....

yeah I still have an order with RS that's outstanding.. I received my RPi from Element14 in about a week from when I placed the order. I think I'll cancel the order with RS (which included a case, but which isnt listed on their site anymore) and order another one from E14 (for my father in law).

Edit: On the plus side, the stock level went from 1813 to 1811, so that seems promising to me!

Well my E14 order that I placed Saturday afternoon is stating it's complete online, with same day delivery. Hopefully it arrives today

They're generally linked from the RPi wiki

I wouldn't mind having a character LCD or even a colour LCD hooked up directly to the Pi using GPIO/I2C or even the display ribbon connector, so the display doesn't have to talk over USB and take up precious ports.

Has anyone done this? Any definitive guides? Software/drivers?

Hoping I can get a point in the right direction here.
