I was wondering if anyone here can help me. I recently acquired 2 12mb voodoo II's in good working order, each being able to have drivers installed and that are displayed in the system tab under Win 98 as being correct. The problem is that i cannot seem to get them running for any applications and often the drivers can even crash my computer requiring a reinstall (hence i have taken 3rd party drivers off of my DL list). For example in f15 i can run the game in software mode, primary display mode (D3D) but not glide mode - and yes glide is installed as part of the driver suites. I'm currently using onboard video a 4mb Intel i810 AGP factor i believe. I have the two cards in PCI slots with the first card being connected to the output of the i810 (my 2d/3d card) and the monitor vga cable plugged into the first card as well. The sli cable connects the 2 voodoo cards together.
Can anyone recommend any ideas? Should the pass through card be a true 2d card and not a 2d/3d combo? Have i got the cables connected the right way? Anyone know of any good drivers that are stable? or of any tweaking tools useful for a Win 98SE system. Any ideas appreciated thanks, Brodieman. ![]() Edit: It should be noted that when the game(s) flick over into glide mode the monitor powers into standby mode, sometimes i can hear sound sometimes i cannot. Got it running under DX 7.0 with Voodoo 3.02.02 Win 9x/ME drivers, works great! now i can play all those uber 3dfx games in all their glory, F-15, Die by The Sword etc...
Too bad i'll have to resort to 3rd party drivers to obtain DX 8.0 and 8.1 support, but at least now they have divers for win xp as well. If your looking for them they're at: www.voodoofiles.com |
