Default Athlon K7 600 Classic

Hi there.

I want to overclock my Athlon k7 CLassic.. I need a goldfinger, (SELL ME ONE)

What speeds could you expect to get from a 600mhz processor ? what do you have to do to make it stable ? Can you get over 1 gig ?

Thanks.

1GHz is possible but highly unlikely...

The average o/c for Slot A Athlon's tend to be...
K7 (.25) - 100-200MHz (650@800MHz - 1.85V)
K75 (.18) - 150-300MHz (600@896MHz - 1.8V)
Thunderbird (.18) 100-250MHz (700@850Mhz 1.95V)

The speeds in bracets are Slot A's I have o/c'ed...

GFD tends come in handy though... Bit hard to find atm...

Stability?
Better cooling & adjust the L2 speed...

What's the code on top of your casing? This gives a good indication of o/c capability...

Oh you can adjust the multipler, L2 cache ratio & voltage via re-soldering the Slot A PCB... Tad tricky though...

Icq moi or something if you want any help....
