Default win XP or win 2k pro? help me decide.

i want to upgrade from win 98se.
which one would be better? and why?
i want stability. (i'm getting sick of 98se and it's damned BSOD's)
but i also want a driver friendly os.

i have a c533 with 384mb ram, should be fine with either of those, right? (i'll be upgrading to a c900 in a month or two, so if the 533 is a bit low, it won't be for long)

i've heard 2k is very stable. but it runs on NTFS(i think) i have a partitioned drive, and i want to keep the second partition(FAT32), will that be a problem?

advice please.
thanks.

EDIT:it's ok. i just read mordy's thread. so there is no need for a thread of the same nature. if you still feel like commenting, go ahead. and if an admin thinks this thread should be deleted, go ahead.

Win2k will run on FAT file systems, you just won't be able to take advantage of the compression/encryption/security file system features.

You will probably have more ease finding drivers for 2k than XP.

I had some very sour experiences with XP so i am sticking with win2k, its a much more professional OS

I second your comment on Win2k being more Professional, XP has som many wizards for doing simple tasks - aimed at the Americans I guess

Re: NTFS, I have dumped fat32 and now use NTFS on all my partitions.
It is a bit harder to recover if you need to use a (win9x) boot disk, but the chance of failure is lower.
