Angry outlook 2000 import issues

yesterday i saved the outlook.pst file and burnt it to cd. formatted pc, reinstalled outlook and when i try to use the import/export utility i select the file and it says i do not have permission to acces this file.

what is going on, can i simply place this file back where i saved it from?

really need help faast as all my important work stuuf is there.

p.s also same thing with adress book

If you look at the file attributes on the cd you will probably find that they are set to "Read-Only". This is more than likely because the cd was fixed at the time of burning (or that it isn't a rewritable cd at all).

You can easily fix the problem for both the Address Book and the PST file by copying them both to your local hard drive, then making sure the "Read-Only" attribute box is left unticked before trying to import those files again (from the local hard drive, not the cd).

thanx for the advie i will try unticking it.

i should of worded that diff. the files are on the hard drive.


also i am running win98se
